Vagrant Story worked partially for me. I have a Save State just before a constant lockup. Its in the first dungeon, with the moving platform, and the two people discussing it. You kill them, then have to go across the moving platform. Enter the door and it freezes everytime.
I'm using v11, BIOS mode, since HLE either doesn't load, or locks when I load my save state. |
I also have this problem. It locks up at the exact same place as you.
legiond of legia.
not working game locks up in bios mode and randomly resets in hle mode. normaly when you lern a new art skill.
crno cross.
working in bios mode but has random lockups when going to the save screen. if you save alot then yea you ca play it but its still annoying. this seems to be happnig with most rpgs it seems.
to bad epsxe is closed source lol the list would be nearly totaly blue lol.

Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero (Unplayable) (PAL)
The FMV sequences are slow and skippy and there is no sound.
When it gets to the menu the controls do not work at all.
When you leave it and watch the demo clip (in game) everything looks fine but the controls for this game do not work for some reason.

HOWEVER - the best - and of some particular reason least known - game from the Megaman X Series - Megaman X3 - I can't get it to work with any settings at all - whatever I do it freezes at "NOW LOADING" screen - |
play x3 on xsnes9x! it'll run so much better and faster with all the filters. there's no need to play the psx version if the snes one will run better, no?
can someone post their settings for any of the barbie games? there's a slight glitch in the graphics when i run them and remove her clothes in the equiptment screen. her nipples don't show up and she doesn't appear anatomically correct...
My personal titles I have tried:
Intelligent Qube - near perfect!
Twistedmetal2 - audio problems other then that seems near perfect.
Silent Hill - so far works good has audio sync issues minor graphics issues
Resident Evil Directors Cut - so far works good with minor graphics issues
Xenogears - works good but some minor graphics and audio issues
Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo - near perfect!
Deception III - works decent a bit slow and has minor graphics audio issues
Got a few more games laying around that I will get around to ripping I will post more details later. Anyone else would like to share experiences.
Very nice work by Xport it will only improve with the next build! I am quite excited!

If I try to save to the "memory card" then the game errors....
I can continue with out saving but I will need to save at sometime.
I tried saving a load of "save states" as I played up to the first save point and when you try to load them nothing happens. If I quit the game and reload it with auto load save point the game freezes.
Has anyone been able ot save this game and if so how did you do it?

i know! ^^ highlight the game and press X to change some settings, look for a game fix called something like "sengouto battle fix" i know its not spelled right, sorry, anyways, its the bottom one, make sure its on and make sure ur running the game in bios mode, this should fix the first battle and im guessing every other battle with a guest party member (it jes freezes again if u turn it off) only problem is that the intro movie's fps goes way down, otherwise the games runs near perfect with occasional text bubble probels in the intro scenes.
to fix the memory card just use memory card 2
i hope this helped!
(also to fix the sound problem in SaGa Frontier do the same thing, bios mode, sengouto battle fix ON)
EDIT: AHA! "Cpu Fixes -> Sengoku Battle Fix ON" there ya go ^^

| to fix the memory card just use memory card 2 |
Do you mean set the settings (with the X button) to memory cards 2/3 or do you mean leave those settings as 0/1 or 1/2 and then simply select the 2nd memory card and save in the in game save point?
You can get past the first battle simply by turning off the 2nd last option in GFX fixes and no CPU mods... this will get past 1st battle and others but no slowdown in game.
i mean set memory card 1 to 1 and 2 to 2, then when you save select slot 2, dunno why, but 1 sont wanna work. hay, any chance of geeting the psx into to load when starting a game like a real psx? i got it somehow, i was playing abes oddysee under bios mode and i did something to make it freeze, a few minutes later it rebooted and displayed the psx logo and then went to the memory card manager/cd player
i was wondering if it would be possible to "Import Game Fixes" in future releases of pcsxbox, so if ur having problems with a game (ie, FFVII Battle Swirl) you can just download a game fix, import it and whalla! just an idea ^^
Final Fantasy 5 works for me. I haven't played it yet but I went as far as the castle.

Strider 2 Yes, works perfect - spaceboy |
I just bought the original PS strider 2, and extracted the .bin and .cue files via alcohol 120% (I have used this method before for extracting other playstation games - Castle Vania SOTN, and BlasterMaster 2, and it worked perfectly with the emu), but i cannot get it to work, the screen just goes black after the loading screen, and nothing comes up; it freezes up the xbox.
So anyway, what do you think my problem is? The original strider that came with strider 2 works fine, but strider 2 does not.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks,
Foe-
I've had final fantasy 9 working almost perfectly.. just a little "skipping" in the sound during a battle sequence.... but I get that rror when it crashes on the video footage for when the ship takes off from that fiurst village you stop at.
I have heard 2 fixes but can not get the m to work.. one was to "skip" the movie file on the xbox, with some button... what button allows you to SKIP a movie?
Also there was talk about loading up the save state in pcx for windows and then saving after the video seence and then loading the save state after the error on the xbox...
But I can not get the pc version to work? Any ideas>?

It seems to run the same as the description to the ntsc version, except the battle menu's work. The whole fmv jitter thing i think is to do with mdec but there aren't any pcsxbox settings for that, or at least, i havent seen any

I didn't see it on the list, but I wanted to point out that Final Fantasy VIII can have battle menus if you disable the throttle. So
Final Fantasy VIII(NTSC) - Playable. Slower than normal on the world map, graphic errors when switching between screens, movies skip slightly every few moments, sounds are different(distorted?). Other than that, it's great.
hope I'm not repeating already known information. Hope this helps others.

descent maximum works on v11 but it is a little slow sometimes
so how good is the compatability on v11? the compatability listing doesnt seem to be updated to v11..
Hadn't seen it mentioned, so I'll comment that Fade to Black PAL works very well. You have to turn on the frame limit to get the right speed, the cinema scenes have somewhat choppy audio (still understandable though), and the game hangs on loading screens on occasion, but the actual graphics and gameplay are excellent.
Paper, I don't believe compatibility has changed much since the initial release because they're all based on the same source. Only bugfixes and GUI improvements distinguish different releases, not increases in compatibility.
i have a problem with the bios option, it seems it doesnt load any of my games but hle will...and for games that have loading screens they wont load they freeze on me...final fantasy 7 wont work for me when the swirl b4 a battle starts for example,
most games on the comp list that work wont work for me also...
never mind on this
final fantasy tactics on hle mode will not save file with memory card or with the emus saves (L trigger + black) when saving clicking to save file to memory card it will just flash thats with both slots and memory card 0 and 1. When saving with pcsxbox (L trigger + black) and loading it will just freeze.
It will work in Bios mode if you turn on parasite eve/vandal heart fix. It's a little slow but will work. The save file works in this mode.
Croc 1 works fine except opening movie glitches but i cna play level 1 now.
Ive had a little play around with it.
Chrono Cross only freezes in HLE mode, Bios works fine.
Framelimit results in smoother gameplay, but jerkier sound while frameskip gives smoother sounds, at the expense of framerates.
Runs slower with both on.
Hope that helps anyone

Futomara did u use pcsx v.1? Also u need to load the game first then exit and load again. Save feature is messed up though i can sasve but if i try again it freezes.
Also set frameskip off and turn on old frameskipping.
Try to load the game twice for casltevania might work then.

really O_o
are you using any sorta special settings? have you rotated the memory cards or something?
what tool did you use to rip it in? i ripped my copy from my original disk using alcohol120% it's in bin/cue format.
Yea... and no special settings, the default ones work best for me...though some prefer to turn on the battle fix one and whatnot.
And dont use alcohol, its a kickass burning program, but for pcsxbox i havent had any luck with it. So i switched over to using cdrwin, and so far its worked for every psx backup.
I dunno what to tell you Shinotakux...the only thing different that we may have is our psx bios file...i use the SCPH1001 one...try that instead of your current one if it happens to be different...*shrugs*
Shinotakux ALWAYS TRY VERSION .1 OF PCSXBOX, it is different from all the other versions and u dont have to delete your pcsxbox v.11 just transfer your images/bins to the folder and play.
Time Crisis Project Titan NTSC - using v11 works perfectly in BIOS/HLE with default settings.
Can't get Final Fantasy Tactics or Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3 to even load in either modes...
I got HM: BTN To work with v. 1, but the controls aren't working.
Anyone got a solution =/
Still playable and enjoyable though
and Street Fighter Collection 1 works fine in BIOS for me.
i finally fixed my problem with chrono cross... apparently you can't have any filters applied when going to the menu or it will crash because the menu uses a different screen resolution than the rest of the game.
big thanks to artynerd for pointing that out. you can view the topic details here: http://forums.xbox-s...howtopic=226707
like to say that final fantasy 7, the only problem is sound, and the transition from gameplay to battle..

btw. why does my game freeze sometimes when i load state?
Add this one to the list:
Time Crisis 2 Project Titan, flawless (1 minor glitch found in mainmenu), biosmode
to have wild arms 2 running correctly, you must:
- graphic fixes: the 5 first are enabled, others are disabled
- cpu fixes: just enable the last option: <something i forgot> combat fix

to unmap the throttle
press "x" on the game you need to unmap it for
go to cofiguration and configure the contoller
go to change UI mappings
where it says fast forward\throttle just press "A" on it and wait 3 seconds
unmapping it means setting it to nothing
i know my little guide is unclear but im sure you can find it
dont know if this has allready been mentioned .. in very first post it shows ridgeracer music to be jumpy. and it is annoying lol .. to get rid of the music and just play the game with sound effects delete the cue. file...
if you have the cue file with the bin it plays the tracks without the cue file it doesnt play them, well it might but there is no sound for them lol
Not wanting to sound like someone to repeat what has been said on many times, I'm having problems with FF9, I've unmapped the throttle on every pad and the menu's don't show...
Alternately if anyone has FF9 with the menus working, could the upload all their settings and others or email me them at mazt at byond.com please? I'm only looking to getting ff9 working.

i tested threads of fate and in mint story the walls and some other stuf were black O_o(tested in v9 , and v11)
in star ocean 2nd story the game crashes exactly when your character tries to do his winning pose (i exported a save game from epsxe and checked if it crashed on all the fights or just in the first one)
oh yeah and i was thinking that maybe some errors could be fixed using gameshark codes im still working on this

How do I go about loading a second disc in this emulator. I have the bins for all 3 cds of ff7 but what happens when I need to switch? How will I start with my save file on disk 2? Wouldnt I need to use an ingame save as my last save so that disc 2 will read it?
you want to save the game to the memory card at the end of the disc
then load up the next game
its a good idea to name it to these
ff7disc1.bin
ff7disc2.bin
ff7disc3.bin
name them whatever you want, it doesn't matter but its just a thought
anyway, load up the second disc and then load up the save, this should work

I'll test it with other options set. I just don't know which ones do what.
(Would be nice, also, to have some kind of feature to replace the default CDDA soundtrack with my own. Since the game supports replacing the game disc with a music CD during matches. As long as I wouldn't get the horrible audio bug.)

Medievil (bios): intro works fine but as soon as the first level (dan's crypt) loads the game hangs...
Hi Breezer,
I have the same problem.
Medievil 2 has the same problem.
Do you have news about it?
Antonio
Resident Evil 3 NTSC. I am not sure if the the tester actually played the game for more than 2 mins or not. There is a problem with door loading. Sometimes the game will display a black screen after loading. To fix this use "Use PC fps calculations' and quick save before every door.
I've got a little to input and I need a little help...
Breath of Fire 4 is all right, but seems to hang on the opening movie after I played it for a while, and also hangs after the closing sequence.
I DO need some help with two games, though.
Final Fantasy Tactics: It will run fine up until the first battle. There, all input will cease. The the cursor still blinks on the first character and the music plays and the animations move, but you can't move or do anything. It seems perfect except for the fact that you can do NOTHING at all. The exact same thing happens in Tactics Ogre.
Dragon Warrior 7 seems to hang a bit on the opening, showing a black screen. It eventually turns into the blue background color, but none of the foreground shows up....the menu that says Start New Game, Continue all that? Can't see at all, although it does seem to flicker on the screen for a split second every once in a while. The controls seem fine, but you can't see anything and I think it hangs o the opening sequence afterwards, but I can't be sure as I can't see it.
Can anyone tell me the fixes I need to apply to get these three games to work?? I would extremely appreciate any help I can get on this one as quickly as possible.

Resident Evil 3 Nemesis - Works with Bios 100%
I´ve got some problems with this one. I downloaded a .bin/.cue pair of files, and ftp´d them to my Xbox. Okay. I set the game to run in BIOS mode and it crashed at the loading screen. I switched it to run in HLE and it ran okay....until the intro movie was gone. Right after the intro movie, a small text appears (something like "Farewell to my life, farewell to my city" or so), and then nothing. I set the filtering to "None", and the throttle button to "nothing", but it still crashies at this point. Setting the game to run again in BIOS mode is useless, because, like I said, it crashes at the loading screen (the one from the emulator). What could I do?
P.S: I just found the game @ one url (of course I won´t say it), so it´s almost impossible for me to download from another source.
P.S (2): if NE1 knows somewhere else I can download this game from, PM me.
Thx.
I got Worms Armageddon working just fine. Used CDRWin for image and loaded w/bios file. Also, change memory card to 10. No problems.

got the same problem than a few guys here about final fantasy tactics! the game works just fine till i get to the first battle, then all input just cease to work... i've try the sengoku cpu fixe or somethin like that and it didn't help :S
Not sure if you are aware of this, but this thread is actually obsolete.
You should be posting and getting your compatibility information here: Pcsxbox Compatibility List, the new list
This topic was for previous versions of the emu
FInal Fantasy Tactics: Maybe someone can help me out here. The game works fine up till the first battle where none of my controls work. I cant do anything. The right trigger down (menu escape) and the fast forward buttons are the only ones that seems to do anything at this point.
If you don't mind, could you post your question in the new compatibility list? Scoobysnaxx linked to it in the post directly above yours. I'm going to lock this thread so that people can't post questions or settings for games in this old thread anymore.
PCSXbox Compatibility List
UPDATED @ Sunday July 6th 2003
Some Notes
I have a small request for anyone who will submit compatibility listings. Please state which version you have tested the game with, as we all now know that some games work in v2 that will not work with v1 and vice versa.
Also please try to be specific when submitting compatibility reports. Just saying "x game works" at this point will not provide enough information for other users, and thus, i will not add it as an entry.
Finally, please state what other options you have enabled to get a certain game to run more smoothly, or at all. changing one setting can have a dramatic effect on a particular game's performance.
Tips
1. To Fix the resident Evil Games and Dino Crisis, set the Throttle button to unmapped.
2. To have the battle Menus in Final Fantasy IX, unmap the throttle button.
3. Final Fantasy Orgins does indeed work. There is more than one version of the game. Try another version if yours is acting up.
4. Thrill Kill final does work on v2 with the bios. I don't think it was tested fully the first time
-First shutoff the cdda
-Then just press the psx X+square buttons at the beginning where you get a black screen after the image has finished loading
-Also, you will get black screens after fighting, but just push a button on the d-pad and the screen shows up
-Runs better at 32 bit graphics (I can't remember the specific option under the video options because my xbox isn't here at the moment, so what I just said could be right or wrong, but just switch something that says 16 to 32) -elnino2783
Chrono Cross will not save to be able to switch over discs. Load the save file in Epsxe, switch discs, and then place the save back on pcsxbox. -boo_se
Miscallenous
1. Final Fanytasy Anthology and Chronicles and any other compilation-type games have been split into seperate listings for each game.
2. I have also now added a new color code, green, for the games that work flawlessly, versus the games that have some sort of problems/issues. working and playable are highly different, so ive added this as an indicator.
COLOR CODE
Untested Game = Black
Working Game with problems = Blue
Working Game with no problems = Green
Non-Working Game = Red
Compatibility Disputes = Orange

Jackie Chan Stuntmaster (NTSC) (v3) Doesnt work in hle but works perfectly in Bios mode.
I can get DOA to run, but there is a buzzing noise at the character select and in game. Any ideas?
ff7 disc1 works fine for me in ntsc bios mode except for some studdering every now and then and when in combat the arrow over the nme's dont show but a little glitchy box on the right side shows part of the nme your target arrow is over.
has anyone had any trouble with disc 2 or 3 i havnt gone that far yet?
I tested Final Fantasy Tactics, and it works except for saving. When I try to save the game, i get "memory card damged" message and then the game freezes while "searching for memory card."

did you try to change memcard from 0 to 1 instead? in some games that seems to help.
Was just trying Suikoden I in PCSX v2 and I get the error message "Memory card full" whenever I try to save. Also, there are some minor graphical errors such as the screen going black when it's only supposed to "dim/fade". But that's really minor. Unfortunately this game only supports saving to memory card slot one, so I'm up a creek unless anyone has any suggestions(before I turn off the game and lose my progress ;o)

why are you not using save states? L trigger + black to save and L trigger + white to load.... there really is no point in saving to the memcard files unless you are going to convert them to use on a PC emulator.

updated. sorry for not updating this in so long. been working way too hard the last week. i quit so needless to say i wont have a shortage of time on my hands anymore...

Deathtrap Dungeon (NTSC) (V3) Doesn't boot in hle, crashes after character select in bios.
Resident Evil Directors Cut (Dual Shock) (v3) (NTSC) Workes perfect in HLE and Bios. Make sure you unmap throttle.
Pepsi Man The Running Hero (NTSC JAP) (v3) Works great in HLE and Bios. Some cdda audio slowdown but it doesnt effect gameplay.
Tobal No. 1 (NTSC) (V3) Works perfect in Hle and bios with cdda. Menu graphics are missing in hle. Make sure you unmap the throttle you need to use R1 in quest mode.
Tobal 2 (w/Infinite Lupine English Translation Patch) (v3) Runs Perfectly in Bios mode and with the patch you can finally play quest mode. Unmap throttle since R1 is used in theis game as well. In HLE some menu graphics are messed up, so use bios mode. Get the patch here.
Threads of Fate (NTSC) Works good in bios Mint's Quest runs perfect but Rue's quest seams to get stuck when he leaves the cabin in the first scene no way to get past it.

Metal slug X works great for me, it doesn't freeze at all, only thing is that the controls just shut of some times, and you can't do anything, not even return to the pcsxbox menu, but when you die and return to the menu, you can use the controller again, tested it in bios(and completed it), HLE mode seemed to work great to.

Couple reasons. Biggest is that there's only ONE save-state file. So I can't save before going into a dungeon, boss battle, whatever, then find out I'm way too low level to take him on, then reload an earlier save and work on leveling some more before continuing. But also because if anything happens to that save state you're screwed. I just played Suikoden for 4 hours, then abused the save/load state to play the gamble thing. When I did a save the emu froze. When I restarted my xbox, every time I load that save state the entire thing is locked up. I tried about 4 times before giving up and decided I'd wait for a newer version to try again. Just got v3.0 and going to go try loading/saving in Suikoden again.
Update: Yep, just got done playing and with v3.0 it saves/loads perfectly. I haven't come acrost the other bug I ran into(fading into pitch black instead of just grey) but I think it's close enough to say it's emulated 100%.

Tobal 1 and 2 do not run *perfect*
However they are playable.
To play with CDDA, enable frameskip on, low res fps, and disable old frameskipping. This will play at the game's actual speed albeit with heavy frame loss. This game normally runs at 60fps, and you get less than half that using these methods. The game however is totally playable.
To play at a more faithful framerate, turn on all frameskip settings, and disable cdda audio. You will recieve over 30fps at the cost of 90% of actual game speed. This too is also very playable.
Playing in HLE will cause the menu text to disappear. Playing in BIOS will retain the menu text.
I have tried a number of games, of which I will post my results for soon, however I think a standard should be set for what one person considers "perfect" in comparsion to the game's actual FPS on a real PSX. The post in question sounds more like it's "perfectly playable" rather than a "perfect emulation." Moreover, please include your game settings so that results can be more easily duplicated for others.

you are right. only thing is, i dont know how i would go about comparing what some people consider perfect and what is truly real psx perfect. there are a lot of these games that people havent even touched on a real psx, so if it runs at what looks like a good speed, they will say it runs perfect, but they have no standard to base their findings on. this is the problem.
i was thinking of scrapping the list completely, and implementing a new system, that only post results against a real psx, not epsxe, or any other emu. then there wouldnt be as many disputes as what "perfect" is.
but i would hate to throw so much work down the drain.
The only skips or slowdown on tobal 2 I saw was when they do win poses it slows down alot. I played tobal 2 on psx before and the speed on xbox is very close.
I'm not saying it's not playable at all or anything, I'm just pointing out that it's not perfect, and that in itself is misleading.
I spent a lot of time ripping and transferring games which are listed here as perfect, and only after having trying it for myself do I find quite the opposite more often than not.
I'm not trying to debate how perfect emulation can be, or the quality of this psx emulator for xbox. I simply want to point out some clarifications for those whom follow in my footsteps after reading this thread.
I find my most favorite games are all very very playable, to the point where being "perfectly emulated" is moot. If I were to rate on gameplay in this case, I would by all means concur that Tobal 1 and 2 are perfect. The game engine remains intact, and that's what games are all about, especially the true gems these two games are.
Hope this clears things up. Cheers on the list, even if "perfect" has a large margin of error by it's emulation definition, however it meets the standards of someone who gives a damn about the game, and that's the toughest critic, therefore I back your endeavor.
x999x
Dang! I was just playing some more Suikoden and found it reaches a part where the emulator gets locked 100% of the time whether in HLE or Bios mode. The game plays perfectly up until the huge army battles(about 6 hours into the game), and at that point it just sits in a continuous loop showing each side, but no action taking place regardless of any key presses. So sad...maybe the next version, though. Until then I'll have to say:
Suikoden - *semi-playable. cannot proceed after a certain key point in the game*
Got Some more to report on:
Cool Borders 2001 - works great in bios mode, gfx perfect sound in game great but on menus mashed....Definately Playable, In HLE freezes up when you try to start a race!
Theme Park - No go with Bios or Hle freezes on loading disk image!
Micro Maniacs - Perfect and i mean PERFECT i ripped origional Pal game and when comparing i couldn't tell the difference...apart from now i can play 4player without multitap!
Having some problems with chrono cross after about 30 hours into the game i can't seem to switch cd's. when i press left thumb... then Y to change disc the emulator completly locks up.... tryed to do a save state where it says "insert cd 2" then start cd2 and load the save state but that didnt work... damn.
Any ideas? can i take my most recent memcard save and use it on a pc psx emu to switch cd's and then do a save on cd2, and ftp it over to the box ?
Tested a new game today. Thrasher: skate and destroy (best skateboarding game ever!) Works great in bios mode, locks up in hle. to make it run smoother disable frame skip and frame limit. old frame skip = on.

question about front mission 3, it seems like i works, but for some reason it refuses to save, even if i create a new memory card it still says crap like not enough space for saving. Might wanna add this into the list

well i dnt now if this works bcause this was wat hapened with ff games.
well at ff7 on the end of a disc u had 2 chisses save or change disc automaticly. well if this hapen at crono cross try to save the game and then quit the crono cd1 game and start cd2 and try to make load of the last save u have. at ff this work but at crono bcause i only get the game today i cant tell u if its the same way to change the game discks. good luck
well im portuguese so my inglish sucsk but i think u can understand wat i rigth
nope... chrono cross doesn't give you the option to save where you swap discs, but i fixed it. i loaded my memcard over to
epsxe on my PC and swapped discs, saved and then i put the memcard file back on my xbox.
um why is this: Dance Dance Revolution 3rd Mix JAP only works in BIOS angelfly classed as unplayable? A case for a change of colour me thinks!
As people may have seen in a topic below, Xenogears freezes for me, right when the intro is supposed to be over and this text shows "this is where it all starts.."
Man, that "xbe only" zip doesn't say that you need to upgrade from v1.
now that I did, it works, with a bad framerate though..
Please add to the Compatibility Listing that you can't change disc in Chrono Cross! I've tried it and it won't work. See Boo_se's solution if you want to start disc 2!!!
well i realy need help on FF IX (pal) bcause i just cant get it work on my xbox.
well if someone can plz tell me all the configurations of the emulator and how they riped the cd and with wat tool.
Gauntlet Legends was perfect for me in bios mode (HLE had a few sound issues where the sound would disappear and then reappear for a length of time).

Ok.. you need to have v2 or v3 of pcsxbox, Turn off frame skip, frame limit And be sure to unmap the throttle.
Try using alcohol 120 % to rip the cd's. There is a post somewhere on this forum explaining how the program works... i dont use it myself.

before you say a game doesnt work, try to either rerip the image or getting another one. it might be the image. i personally havent tried it. but it was reported from other sources. if someone can either confirm or deny that megaman legends works, post it.
i dont know if you did, try the various fixes in the emu.

What a pity!
Despite the authors comments to the contrary, as of V4.0 Suikoden I works perfectly, even that battle scene that locked up the game in V2/3. Hurrah! I'm now continuing on in my quest to beat Suikoden I and Suikoden II before my PS2 arrives in the mail.
"Jikkyou! Oshaberi Parodius" (1996) won't get past the "Keep Waiting" screen
"Street Fighter Alpha 3" freezes the emu at its' loading screen
V4
"Soukaigi" has the black screen. no good. it'll play on epsx, but w/out music
"Tomb Raider 2" has the black screen after you try a new game or try to go to lara's home.
"Vadims" plays fine, but there's a loud LOUD buzzing noise instead of music and sfx.
I tested the game 'One' last night and it works perfect with HLE and BIOS modes. Great game btw!!
Couldn't get Harry Potter and the Philosophers stone to Work although it says it does on the list. It loaded then got to the first screen and then hangs when your about to start the game,
This is the last thing it said on the screen look strange and mysterious to me >>??

i hope this game becomes compatable in the future

I just played this through to the Bad+ ending tonight. It didn't seem to run fast, except for some of the cutscenes which had more sound problems then anything. The AdvanceMAME filter seems to crash it unfortunately, so that's out as a throttling tool. Anyone get any of the filters to work with SH1 (NTSC)?

I've tried an NTSC and PAL version of FF8 on the new v6 - both times, in BIOS/HLE, it froze when I loaded it (black screen) and I couldn't press the right thumbstick to open up the menu or anything...
To the people having problems running games that used to work for them in previous versions: Try deleting the E:/UDATA/ffff051f/0FC41366546E/ folder and everything inside it (there should only be one file - SaveMeta.XBX - and it's probably 0-length.) After the 0FC41366546E folder is deleted, also delete E:\SAVES\PCSXBOX\PCSX.INI and E:\SAVES\PCSXBOX\SKIN_SETTINGS.INI. Also, if the game you are trying to launch is called, for example, CASTLE.BIN, then you'll also need to delete the E:\SAVES\PCSXBOX\CASTLE.* files (especially the STG and KEY files.) Then completely install PCSXBOX v6 to a new directory and try the game again.
edit - also - please clarify : Did you get a black screen after seeing the "loading screen" or did you never even see the "loading" screen?
This post has been edited by XPort on Jul 16 2003, 05:06 AM
The loading screen does indeed go by, albeit it's longer than those on games that work.
I'll go try out what you just said.

LKAJKLASD!!!!!1111111
XPORT: YOU ARE MY HERO!
I did what you said and now FF8 runs, omg I'm so happy!!1
I also noticed in the menus, there're no skulls around the highlighted option, didn't see that before...
So I suggest to EVERYONE who is having problems to do exactly what XPORT JUST SAID!!
Well I'm glad to hear that worked for you. The steps I suggested are probably overkill, however. I believe the problem is either related to the graphics filter variable getting set to an undetermined value or that the save directory in E:\UDATA... becomes corrupted when PCSXBox moves the save files to E:\SAVES\PCSXBOX. If anyone else is having this problem, or soki if you have the problem again, then I'd suggest the following:
First, delete the E:\SAVES\PCSXBOX\GAMENAME.KEY and GAMENAME.STG files of the non-working game. Then load up PCSXBox, go to Configuration screen, select Default Graphics Filter and make sure it's set to a sane value. Then try to play the game - it should prompt you to enter in your configuration options. Put in some values that you know will at least boot the game. Try playing it.
If that does not work, then do the following:
Delete the files mentioned in the first step. Then also delete the E:/UDATA/ffff051f/0FC41366546E/ folder along with everything in it. Load up PCSXBox and try the game.
If that does not work, then do the following:
Delete the files/directory mentioned in the first and second steps. Then also delete the E:\SAVES\PCSXBOX\PCSX.INI and E:\SAVES\PCSXBOX\SKIN_SETTINGS.INI. Load up PCSXBox and try the game.
If that does not work, then do the following:
Delete the files/directories from the first, second, and third steps. Reinstall PCSXBox v6 to a clean directory. Run it.
I suspect that no one should have to go past step two. If this does or does not help you (anyone), then please report back to this thread with results or private message me.

ok i was just checkin, have you checked to see how much it slows down the game with super eagle and other options (on diablo on v7, bios mode not HLE), because i might be interested in getting this, i remember how much fun it used to be ^_^ anyways, im off topic please excuse me
for those of u getting Thrill Kill to work on pcsXbox, what size is the .bin ur using?
Puzzle Fighter Works
Tales of Phantasia (JAP ONLY) (v7) Works perfect in HLE and Bios. Intro movie is a little choppy, but that doesnt effect gameplay.

you must run the game in bios mode, you need a bios file in the bios folder and you have to have a proper cdimage. If your other games work fine then there's something wrong with your ffIX image. And get the latest version of pcsxbox. ffIX doesnt work with v1
Metal Gear Solid Works in Bios mode. Gameplay is fine, but in codec conversations the sound is jittery. *V2*
Metal Gear Solid JPN - Will not Boot -Kuis
Metal Gear Solid VR Missions Runs well in BIOS, use Old Frameskip: ON chadkeck
I have some questions.
How jittery is the sound?
So jittery you can't hear it, or just a bit jittery?
How is it in v7?
And what's up with v7?
I got v3 a while ago and the versions have just been popping up.

Resident Evil 2 Dual Shock Version - Bios Mode stops loading at the warning screen - HLE Mode runs perfectly
Using PCSXBOX Ver. 7
Bubsy 3D - The game loads fine but it is very slow in either mode, it's an unplayable slow
Using PCSXBOX Ver. 7
Man i wanna know if ANY of the twisted metal games worked...
Battle Arena Toshinden 2 - Bios Mode runs about 75% speed with CDDA disabled, Runs slower with CDDA enabled - HLE Mode runs only a tad faster with CDDA Disabled
Using PCSXBOX Ver. 7
Vampire Hunter D - Bios Mode and HLE Mode start menu is not visible other then that the rest of the game runs excellent under both modes

The first one works at least. The menus are a bit wonky, and you need to turn CDDA off for it to really be at playable speed, but it's enjoyable enough.
Mr Driller works great in HLE mode,
not at all in BIOS
using both v6, and v7

BEFORE claiming the emulator is at fault, check the list and provide at least..some information as too what doesn't work
hmm ok my bad well something is wrong with my setup i cant even run samuri shodown and it says it runs it no problem in compat list
it freezes at loading screen
tekken 3 gets as far as namco message then freezes at pause screen you can hear the emulator music repeating
"Resident Evil Directors Cut Dual Shock Version"
Sound crackling a bit in HLE-mode, works fine in BIOS-mode. (Triggers remapped as the other RE-versions of course)
(PCSXbox v7)
Im having trouble with X-Com UFO Defense. I turned off Frame Skipping and now the main menu is visible(after the intro), so I can start playing the game. But a couple strange things happen in the game that make it unplayable. First, sometimes pressing the RTrigger will freeze the game. Its mapped to psx R1 and I removed throttling from that button(its now not even set to anything). Second, sometimes when im moving up and down through the menus (in-base menu or on the geoscape), the focus uncontrollable cycles down the list over and over and I cant make it stop. I'll try pressing different buttons to make it stop and nothing seems functional. It acts like the down button on the D-pad is being held down.
Im using pcsxbox v7, the suggested Frame Skipping - Off setting, and a bin/cue from my original cd.
Anyone give me any ideas as to whats causing this.
I have v7 an Metal Gear Solid doesn't load using either bios. When using BIOS mode it feezes at the loading screen and when using HLE it loads to a black screen and then freezes. Anyone know what's wrong?

Yes, it must be bin/cue.
no, it can be iso, img or bin format.
the following games work fine using BOIS mode in PCSXbox v6
1- Gradius Gaiden
2- Zanac X Zanac
| QUOTE (boo_se @ Jul 28 2003, 12:45 AM) |

It can be any of the 3 as long as he has the CUE file with it, all my ps1 games i ripped using clonecd make .IMG and a .cue file and they work great
Oops, I stand corrected, sorry about the wrong info.
Update:
Harvest moon: back to nature works in pcsxbox_v1 bios mode only
Is there anyway I can generate a .cue for my .iso I already have?
I've never had to do this but i think you can mount the .iso with Daemon Tools (Daemon Tools makes a virtual drive so you can mount virtually any kind of .iso, .bin, or .img) Then when you mount your iso it will show up like a normal ps1 cd, then use your fave ripping program and point the program towards the virtual drive you mounted the iso file with, depending on the program you use it should make another .iso, .img, .bin with a .cue file, test the files out you just made to make sure they work, then unmount the old .iso from the virtual drive and do whatever you please with it
Alright. progress is a bit slow, but im working on a compatibility site where people can submit their .stg files so when a game works for some people, the stg files will allow other people to duplicate the same results. im almost finished the layout (wont be anything too fancy), but im looking for something other than geoshitties. once that is done, then the new compatibility site will be done.
what is a stg file?
i think they are small files for every game that contains the settings you have made to your games
| QUOTE (boo_se @ Jul 29 2003, 01:55 PM) |

bingo. so whenever someone says i got x game to work and someone else asks i can get it to work, what settings are you using, they will have a good stg file to go by and get their game up an drunning.
only problem is i will have to make sure people know that the stg file has to be the same name as their image file. so if they have ff8.bin/cue the stg file must be ff8.stg.
Lode Runner doesnt work in either BIOS or HLE. Black screen after Loading screen in emulator - BoondockSteveO
Couple questions. Is Xport the creator of the PCSXBox emus? Also, those games listed With green are supposed to run perfectly by definition, but I have yet to get one to work perfectly. In particular, I mean Street Fighter Alpha 3. I was just wondering if it was amistake, or if some have actualyl gotten it to work flawlessly.
My third question is just about the sound quality of the games. My games are perfect in every way except for sound. the music skips or is choppy, etc. Is there an easy way to fix this problem, or must I live with it until a later date?

Why do you keep asking for that game?
It works fine on Final burn for the xbox, and i believe kawa-x.
The ps1 version of that game wasn't arcade perfect, what else does it have going for it?
VS mode? Lame new characters? Guile? Bah....
Not a flame, i am just curious as why you want that game so badly.
bombzhome, Twisted Metal 4 works on PCSXbox. Slightly choppy, but the recent update gave it a 15-20% speed tweak, so I'm sure it plays fine now. I haven't tried any other Twisted Metal games, because I don't have them.

CRASH BASH - PAL Version - It loads up, and the sounds all glitchy. And it speeds up and slows down al lthe time. Then when you go to the main game and after they finish talking, it loads and freezes on the loading screen. Tried it in both modes.

It still freezes after a battle on v9
I just got this emu a few days ago and did my homework on it then added my games. These are my findings:
Final Fantasy Tactics: Works damn close to perfect on V.1 PCSX in bios mode, but in HLE mode it basically froze when i tried accessing my memory card on either V.1 or V.9, and (as stated on the list earlier) stops working during the first battle when in bios mode with V.9.
Unholy War: Works pretty good on V.9 bios mode, but the prebattle screens in strategy mode dont really show up, and there's some slight slowdown when fighting (definitely playable though).
Worms Armageddon: Works perfect on V.9 bios mode.
I tested a couple other games, but they acted exactly the same as previously stated so i left them out. Hope this helps someone.
WOW!
I can help for once.
Omega Boost PAL
PcsXbox v9.
BIOS mode loads everything, but thre is stretching on some screens, none of the menus or during the actual game, I mean things like videos and the intro.
I've got all options off and The frame rate seems the same with Simple 2x on as when you have no filtering enabled.
I'm in the tunnel level and had no problems so far.
Update: Turn off filtering for near perfect performance and perfect videos, etc.
ok update hehe i just now converted my iso's to bin's OOPS
so far
Street Fighter Zero 3works great!
Samurai Showdown 3Works great!

Hey, I played it a bit more yesterday and it seems it doens't work as good as I'd remembered.
Your best bet is to turn of CDDA, this will increase speed a bit and you'll have no music, which isn't that great anyway.
Also, run it in BIOS mode and don't save to memory card, because the game glitches-out if you load a mem-card save.
I'll play it more tonight and post back at some point.

Rival schools 2?
as in progect justice?
I thought that game only came out on the Dreamcast (awesome game too)
There was a game between Rival Schools and Project Justice: Rival Schools 2. It was (confusingly) called Rival Schools 2 and only came out in Japan. I haven't played it, but from what I hear, it's an updated verion of the first game, not a true sequel, probably like the difference between Mutant Academy and Mutant Academy 2.
Tekken 3 doesnt work...
Rival Schools 2 and Project Justice are two very different games. They called Project Justice rival schools 2 in the usa because the real Rival Schools 2 for psx never came out in the usa. Rival Schools 2 for psx is a great game it has alot of new characters and mini games.
any one got Thrill Kill working i did every thing that the compatibility list says and it still locks up after loading screen with the bottom half streched
btw tekken 3 WORKS! and for anyone that can see the intro sometimes the little arcade game doesnt allways load
so push start right when you see intro
Thrill KIll works in V9 with default settings and bios mode. The problem is the warning screen is invisible so when the game starts you should see a black screen. Press X + A to get passed the warning screen.

To the person that couldn't get Thrill Kill to work, I just did this what it says on the first page of this thread. And it works perfect for me accept no sound in Movies
"4. Thrill Kill final does work on v2 with the bios. I don't think it was tested fully the first time
-First shutoff the cdda
-Then just press the psx X+square buttons at the beginning where you get a black screen after the image has finished loading
-Also, you will get black screens after fighting, but just push a button on the d-pad and the screen shows up
-Runs better at 32 bit graphics (I can't remember the specific option under the video options because my xbox isn't here at the moment, so what I just said could be right or wrong, but just switch something that says 16 to 32) -elnino2783"

I'm playing P.E too and it's almost perfect... Speed is 100% but after day 3 the game started to lock up.. it's not a total emulator freeze i can still press the thumb and go into the menu... It happens randomly after day 3. I have to load my most recent save state and then it passes the part where it used to freeze and locks up later on in the game.. every hour or so this occurs. If you are passed day 3 and havn't had this issue then i know it's my image that must be bad.
Has anyone had any luck loading Azure Dreams? I ripped the CD into a .bin file with CDRWin and it won't load up, black screen on start. Has anyone else tested this game?
Also, is there any fix that will make the voices in Soul Reaver not lag? Right now, they're jittery and it takes forever for them to speak. (Only in gametime, not in cutscenes.)
Thanks.
jlsyzsin, did u find a way to play luna without glitches yet??
Resident Evil 2 NTSC Non-Dual Shock - Claire CD
runs in both HLE and BIOS. Terrible speed.
Hogs of War - runs in bios mode - sound is a bit distorted - playable though
40 Winks - runs in Bios mode - OK.
It's been said before, but Silent Hill is still way too fast on either BIOS or HLE. I'm using the NTSC version on PCSX v9. Does the PAL version have the same problem? Any way to fix it? Already tried to turn on low res fps, old fps limiter, enabling CPU rendering, etc. and just about every switch in the emu. They either crash the game or don't fix the problem. It's a shame because other than that the game seems to have no major issues.
Got a problem here, savegames from Suikoden 1 can´t be read by Suikoden 2.
So it´s got to be a compatibilty problem.
Anyone know´s why? Or have a solution / answer to it? :/
kinda sad..
Thanks

Anyone got a solution for saving in FFTactics?
I change the value for the memory cards, at one point I was able to try to save my game, then it said that my card was defective and it went back to the Check Memory Card loop.
I tried using Save States. I've been able to load my game once or twice on 10 tries.
Otherwise, the game runs 99% with little hiccups in the sound during the movies.
Been having trouble with Final Fantasy Origins. The topic here says it works in bios mode, I get an error everytime I try to run bios mode (am I doing something wrong? Does bios mode need to be setup someway, as I just installed psxbox v9) In HLE mode it locks up in the beginning when it goes to access the memory card. I guess this is more of a bios question, since I haven't gotten any of my games to load in bios mode without getting the same error. " Can not load D:biosscph1001.bin. This sounds like I haven't set it up correctly, but I can't find anything on it. Edit Er, nevermind realized I needed to download that bios and FFO seems to work fine now. Sorry =/
Is pcsxbox running in direct 3d, is that why it's running some games slow.
Did someone played Xenogears up to the end of Disc 1 and knows if it is possible to switch to the second??
| QUOTE |
| Is pcsxbox running in direct 3d, is that why it's running some games slow. |
It runs on a software render. If it were direct 3d or open gl then it would be faster. some games run perfect though.
OHHH ic now, well is there anyway to implement Direct 3d or open gl??
Hokuto No Ken/Fist of the North Star JAP - Crashes in the story mode intro for both biso and hle.

If someone could find a good open source open gl or direct 3d plugin for pcsx then it might be possible but there really isnt any good open source plugins.
Magic Carpets works great in both modes. Only slowdown is during the opening fmvs.
Return Fire works in BIOS, but not in HLE. Also, no music played, but this could be because I had a few errors when ripping the game.
don't know if this info is in any other posts but its not on the main page:
Omega Boost (NTSC-J) - near perfect (BIOS), slight slowdown when screen becomes busy, does not work in HLE.
Alundra2 (NTSC) - works in BIOS, occasional random lock-ups
I have discovered how to fix the speed-up problem in Parappa the Rapper.
For everyone who doesent already know, by default, the right trigger is set up as a fast forward button in pcsxbox. Everytime you hit that button (as part of a rap) the slider speeds up but the rest of the game does not. And after you hit it once, the game is out of synch until you reset it. I KNOW! I GOTTA BELEIVE!! no... actually all you gotta do is un-assign the trigger to the fast forward function, change it to your back button or something else... then Parappa runs pretty flawlessly aside from the fact that the Cheap Cheap chicken's mouth wont move sometimes. Have fun
Final Fantasy IX hangs at the intro movie in bios mode. Doesnt wven get to the intor movie in hle mode. Tried different settings nothing works. The cd image is ok. Using v10.
Nevermind, i found the problem. I had the Parasite Eve fix ON and that couses the FFIX movies to hang for some reason.
Now i have another problem, the menus during the fights does´nt show upp in FFIX, does anyone know what settings that will fix that, or if there is any ?
Crap...the movies ingame keeps hanging in FFIX, anyone know how to fix that? That Parasite Eve fix only fixes it sometimes...Someone should change that in the list...
Does anyone know if Jojo's Bizarre Adeventure works ?
anybody got medievil or doom runnin yet? if so how
Well it has been awhile since I tested any games (pcsxbox v1) but I have been fooling around with Tales of Destiny 2 again with v10 and I have gotten it to work fairly well. The only problem is after awhile of speech the game will start to stutter and slow down. I have been unable to fix this, you either have to turn of sound or just save state and restart the game to clear up the lag. The only graphic fixes I have on are old frame skipping and frame limit for fights. I will continue to play and report if there are any further problems, I have only been playing for about 30 mins.

Im a few hours into the game and it works great as long as the voices are set to OFF. Havn't found a fix for the echo and stuttering when they speak.
Im using v10 and cant get FF8 pal version to work on it, every time i load it up all I get is a black screen but I can still use the right thumbstick to enter the pcsx menu. Ive tried what was done in an earlier post but with no luck. Also ive tried it in both bios and hle mode. ( I coudnt get it to work in version 8 either).
Update
Just tried the .img file on epsxe and it works perfectly.
Someone should change that compatibility List, or better yet, delete it. It is´nt correct. Some of the blue games will start ok and even have good speed, but at some point in the game they will not work anymore. Just take FFIX for example, at a certain point in the game the emu will crash, this happens for everyone, and noone seems to have gotten past it without transfering the saves to pc and play it on a ps1 emu on their pc instead. That goes for more games in the list.
Has anyone played Dragon Warrior 7 recently? I can't get it to work. It loads till the first menu but then goes extremly slow and the menu flickers to where I can't even try to start a new game. I have tried everything I can think of but to no avail. I would love to play this game again.
Well it isn't a speed issue. I struggled with creating a new game and the windows ingame are nearly non existant (they flicker on screen for less than a second every 5 seconds or so). I believe there was a windows fix in petes plugin for games like Final Fantasy on PC emus, I am wondering if I am just missing something and one of the graphic/cpu fixes will fix my problem
Clock Tower NTSC - 100% BIOS Works best. Important: Make sure to select none for graphics filter, otherwise the right side of the screen will be smeared and cut off.
Hi all. I can't get FF7 to work. I have ntsc and v10. There are posts in the previous fifteen pages that say it works. I've tried bios and hle. Both hang at the first battle. The noises still come accross though. Any ideas on which cpu settings might help?
Edit---search... duh...
Still, the problem was in the bin and cue creation. I followed some crazy tutorial that had messed up my cue file. So I re-imaged the disk with the latest cdrwin with all the nomal settings. Now everything works perfect.
Hi
I'm new to this forum, so i haven't had time to look thru everything yet.
But i'm wondering if anyone can give me a guide on how to get gran turismo 2 (pal) to work on my xbox, i'm using pcsxbox v10. I made bin/cue of my original cd, then i ftp it to my xbox, started up pcsxbox and selected the .bin file, but when i do, the xbox either crashes or goes back to the selection menu of pcsxbox.
I've tried adjusting the settings, but since i don't know what half of them are, i might as well ask here.
Anyone??
has anyone tried to play Mega Man X6? In the compatibility listing it says it works with bios mode but the only way it loads for me is with HLE mode and then it freezes on a black screen. Are there any configuration options I need to change?
Any help would be appreciated.
FF8(PAL) DOES work!
You have to PPF patch the bin image, turn frameskip and framelimit off, turn on CPU interpreter and the Inu...something battle fix and it runs at normal speed except the battle menus are flickery and the sound isn't perfect, movies are kinda jerkey and there are minor graphical issues during battles but it is PERFECTLY PLAYABLE!(I haven't got too far though, only just past the dollet mission).
Hello everyone.
Sorry the compatibility list has not been updated in such a long time, as i have not been here to do so. I have been in the hospital for a while now (car accident, multiple broken bones) and im finally out. so i will update the list in the coming days.
thanks for being so patient.
The idea would be to sum up ALL the games and clear up this thread - I mean... Just look how many off-topics there are...
I would really like a 'clean list'. And JUST that here.
When you update please say that PPF Patches are important for copy protected games to run(Especially PAL games). http://www.megagames.com has PPF patches and engine for almost every game.
i will do that. i have to catch up on schoolwork ive missed from being hospitalized first before i completely finish this, but i will get this done.

off topic, but yes. The original devs of pcsx have quit but some new guys have started working on a 1.6 version and i belive its being beta tested right now. If there are any good changes then im sure pcsxbox will get updated too.
Gee I really hope so.

Yeah buy a psx, seriously though selecting old frameskip on should sort out sound but may have a severe detrimental effect on gameplay.
Is there even any point in even testing more games for this list it seams like it lacks interest. the last update by kaioshade was July 6th. is he still updating this list?
Some Questions Regarding Final Fantasy 7
Does anyone have this game working with the cool grafic effects when going into a battle?
Does anyone not see the arrows that point to what anemy you are gonna attack in a battle?
If so can you please post....
Bios you are using
What CPU configurations are on and off
What Grafic Configurations are on and off
what grafic filters you are using, (sai, Eagle, MAME.. ECT...)
Are you using Point, Biliner, triliner, or anatropic Filtering
What mode you have the emu running in 480i, 480p, 720p or 1080i
I say we start a new compatability list for this emu.. where all these questions are answered.. Lets do it right. This list is a huge help but lets make it perfect.
If interested please PM me .. If i get enough positive responces i will host the site but will take on people to help in creating and keeping up with the updating.. as well as myself.
Also if anyone has the answers to the questions i just asked for these games too.. much appreciated...
Castlevania
Metal Gear Solid
resident evil (1, 2 and 3)
gran turismo
gran turismo 2
Thanks all,
Demon
Has anyone got Valkyrie Profile working with the newer versions of PSCX??
The Raven
{{DEMON}} - and graphics enhancements of any sort or filters always end up slowing down the emulator alot so I dont recoment using them. I dont think pscxbox runs in hd. I remember a while ago someone said to un map the throttle to fix the pointer issue. I was running ff7 on pscxbox but it had the pointer issue I never tried fixung it since I have a real psx and ps2 and I can play it perfect on them. There have already been a few failed attempts at a new list so I doubt that is going to happen but if it does I can help. I know Resident evil 1 directors cut works perfect you just have to unmap the throttle. which castlevania? Chronicles or SOTN?
oops read post below.. thansk!
We all know that a REAL PSX is the way to go. I have 4 of them.. and I have 2 PS2's. I can easly dig one out and play ff7 on it. But whats the fun. The Idea behind a emulator is to play games from another system all in one place. Lately the Xbox seems like the Place to do that. I really would love to play through ff7 again on my xbox just to say hey... I beat ff7 on an emulator and on my xbox.
PSCX does run in HD. I switched from the 480i option to both 480p and 1080i. ff7 does not like 1080i on my tv and locks. but it pays fine in 480p and the emu and the game look quite fine. Also with the 4 filtering options (POINT, BI, TRI and ANATROPIC) all 4 work with ff7 and i see no lag issues with the game. Now the other options.. The ingame filters (sai, super sai, eagle, ECT....) them and the CPU options (odd/even hack, ect...) i haven't messed with .... But i do know that the vandel hearts hack.. slows the game down and the other game hack does to. so both are off.
No matter what I do or what options I use.. there are 2 problems with ff7. It dont show the arrows to select what target you are aiming at in battle, and that cool grafix effect of the screen bluring as you get sucked into a battle doesn't work either. So my whole goal is to see if someone out there has FF7 working on their XBOX with the 2 problems Working on their ff7 and if so can they please write a post about what all their configuration settings are. I am willing to also start a web site if enough people are interested in eactly what the best settings are for a game.. sort of a huge compatability list but with every setting predeffined for users so they don't have to mess with it for hours to tweek it.
By maping and unmaping the throttle... you mean to unmap the controller button that when you push it it makes the game go super fast?
IF so i did that already for all games that use the throttle button as a button in game.
Thanks so far.. but still can use the answers to my question.
Thanks,
Demon

Did you play it alot? I've tried 2nd mix, although looking good at first it's completely out of sync and unplayable.
Since we can't get it pinned i'm going to post the new compatibility site Dwhitt and I have made:
http://pcsx.tripod.com
It only has 3 games at the moment but as it has a form with specific required fields it is organised so submit all the games you have tried now!
(by the way don't flame because of the host there's nothing wrong with it)
IS there any other Forums that have a Compatability list for the Xbox and the PSX emu?
Thanks,

Not that I know of.
Have anyone managed to make Metal Gear Solid playable? The gameplay is fine, but all the ingame cutscenes and codecs are very jittery (both graphics and sound). And since there are almost more codec and cutscenes than actual gameplay it´s a bit hard to play it as it is now...I´ve tried a couple of different settings on v10 but nothing seems to work.

strange... Metal Gear Solid was the only game i found close to 100%... part from i completed broken sword 1... which had a very minor bugs.
EDIT : Sorry i just remembered the cutscenes in MGS had slight sound flickers and stutters.... but nothing to massive.
I would´nt call it slight or "nothing to massive", it´s almost impossible to hear what they say since the sound always repeats itself and the gfx hangs every other second...When the gfx hangs it´s only the camera and the characters that hangs, effects like snow still moves for some reason.
San Francisco Rush - BIOS mode only, some movie distortion. Game runs fine.
does this thread is still alive?

has anyone tried beatmania 6th mix??
I've read all the posts so far and I have not seen anything about how to get the block on the menu to be an actual arrow in FF7 (other than the pc version). I was wondering if anyone has done this and I have just missed something.

Having same problem here, just a different FMV.
Frameskip and frame limit is off, throttle is unmapped, using bios.
Did anyone test this game to completion or was it just a "5mins and it ok" test?
Hi there guys!
I have two questions...
1. What file formats are good for PCSXbox v9? I don't want to use .bin and .cue, are there other ways, like .iso or .img?
2. I have verison 9 of this emu, can i play Suikoden 1 (NTSC), or there are any problems?
