I believe "Hugo" is not for emulating Neo-Geo Systems.
-
hugo is a pc emulator. try using your roms in the neogeo mode in mamex by pressing B
-
Oh yeah, I'm dumbass. It's for TG16, I was thinking of something else. thanks for putting my mind straight.

I had a few games that wouldn't work, such as King of Fighters 95 & 96 (which I got cos they were recommended in the other thread) and it said something to do with SNK and NGEO files were missing. Is this cos I didn't press B to switch modes? Or is it because I only burnt on of the 2 .xbe files that were in my MAME-X download? (The file I ommited was NCMamex.xbe - can anyone tell me what this was for, as it isn't mentioned in the accompanying .txt file, or in any burning guide I read)
Cheers
Mark

You need to press the B button to play those games.
And regarding the NCMamex.xbe, you need it, I believe NCMameX stands for NeogeoCapcomMAMEX, that means, it is the .xbe file that is loaded when you press B.

Thanks Gackt - I'm sure that info isn't mentioned in the .txt files accompanying the release (well, the B bit is, but obviously not clearly enough for me!)
-
I thought the only way you could even get those games to show up was by hitting the B button. I can get them to show up but they don't work regardless.
-
How strange, have you placed the Neo-Geo Bios in the rom folder? (It must be called neogeo.zip)
-
Yes I have, it is asking for other files though. ng-*.rom I dont' know what they are off the top of my head and I'm sure you are going to say to get those files. Which I have been searching for but havn't found yet.
-
Your Neo-Geo Bios does not have those files?
-
I never looked in the zip files actually, just got it from the same place i get everything else so I assumed it was koo. My source has never failed me in the past.
I am at work now or I could give you a more detailed list of the files it is asking me for and what is in my neo-geo.zip, you know I think mine does have a dash in it, or maybe not, once again I'm not at my XBOX.
I would ask for a link to the proper files but I know that is forbidden, and if I search hard enough on my own I'm sure i can find it. Just takes time.
-
Try renaming the neo.geo.zip file to neogeo.zip
-
That's my plan, if it's not already named the correct way to begin with that is.
-
Please let me know if renaming works, if it does not, we will find another way.
-
Does it work now?
