Post by: Paintballpsyco2369 on January 01, 2006, 10:43:00 PM
muhaha.gif How have you gotten the flash drives to work? I have a spare 512 stick I have been wanting to use for xbox, and I can't seem to get it to work.

I was lucky and had one sitting around that has worked on all xbox versions.

It is a cheap PNY Attaché USB 64mb Flash Drive (USB 1.1).

I've never tried any other ones but I hear that the xbox is very picky, If you do a search you should be able to find a compatiablity list somewere.

To give more information...

I have an old thinkpad, 300mhz, usb 1.1, win 98se.

The idea I have does include the use software on the laptop to make the xbox belive it isn't connected to a laptop (or PC), but connected to a memory card.

While I know this is hard due to the fact that the xbox attempts to format any recognized memory card to fatx. I was hoping to be able to mount a fatx memory card image to the usb.

If this is just too extreamly crazy or unable to be done  uhh.gif  .... Please tell me.

Thanks for your time.

No... usb is a host-client protocol... AFAIK the default controllers as found in normal computers can't simulate a "client" device.
