well there's absolutely no reason to run config magic on a debug or a development kit. The reason being that their eeproms are not readable to the current version of config magic so it's useless. You'll have to wait for the next release of config magic.

The December 2003 is considered the "final" XDK for Xbox 1.  They stated they will release one more update before moving towards the Xbox 2 XDK

eepromagic is what undead did before config magic, and neither run on a debug or dev kit.

smile.gif Cuz If you guys don't know what it's for or have no use of it, give it to someone who does, it's a waste for people to have them if they're not going to be put to use.

It depends what error screen is being displayed when the XDK starts up. Check: http://www.xbox-scen.../errorcodes.php and ask him if he sees any of those. It depends what the problem is. Most likely it should be fixable with a Recovery disc. Why don't you PM or e-mail me his e-mail, maybe I can help him directly. And also may I ask how he got this XDK?

Orange and Red flashing can be caused by trying to run an app with the debug flag turned off. You can replicate it by running Evox, among other thing, on a debug kit. Make sure that any app you run is build with Debug configuration.

And a debug machine can run with a blank EEPROM. Infact, you can rebuild the EEPROM straight from the XDK launcher. Can't help it, but one has got to wonder how a supposedly Problem report turned into an EEPROM request. I'm not even sure if the admins of the board allow such a request.

not even the original xbox dash will run... and evox does ths same thing... flashes red and orange

lol... if the xdk launcher runs then nothing is wrong with this xdk... your problem is simple. YOu're using the retail ms dash instead of the debug one. The xor is wrong and it is signed. This causes the xdk to reject it. Same with evo.. the xor is wrong and you can't patch it to debug with de-xbe because evo is packed in some weird way and msdash will still be signed causing it to fail to load. Use the msdash from a recovery disc or the xdk files you have and you'll be fine.

You CAN use the stock MS Dash with debug BIOS. It just have to be the default title, but it won't be able to launch anything like the XDK launcher can.

no..... please try to pay attention. I want to make sure this is clearly understood.
If by stock you mean the msdash that came with a RETAIL xbox... then you are wrong.
If by stock you meant the msdash that came with the debug unit then you are correct and that was assumed. I think if you read my post you'd see that I answered that.
