So you want to allow people to use live for free? like a man in the middle attack?

or you want to build your own servers or service like XBC?

If you want to accomplish my first suggestion then you have no chance in hell.

so what's wrong with XBC? Its free, has online gaming and separate from live.

OMG.. heh, let's see where this goes.

EDIT: Ok, let's say one of Xbox Live's address is 12.34.56.789. What do you hope to accomplish with this address? I mean.. let's try to be techinal rather than saying.. I want to make a fake Xbox Live system.

I need the adress of the xbox live server(s), because i want to built a fake XBOX LIVE server so we can use it costless.
The only thing i need is the ip-adress or hostname of the XBOX Live server(s).

setup a unix/linux router on your computer and get it to log connection attempts.

However, staging a live server isn't so easy. Almost certainly your Xbox checks the Xbox live server is genuine by checking its identity signatures the same way your Xbox checks to see if an XBE file is real. For example, your Xbox can send a random packet seeded by time and say "if your real, sign this packet".

The reason I say this is its quite standard security, and is M$ has half a brain they would realise that the implications of leaving this out would lead to real easy softmodding.

But who knows.. maybe there's someway around this.

but I bet it's damn near impossible without sniffing XBox to Live server communication, which would, of course, reveal necessary IP addresses.

This is why I was laughing... he wants to accomplish something that requires a certain level of technical knowledge yet is asking for the live IP address...  blink.gif

The best part of this is that even if it were accomplished it would be exactly like Xbox Live except with all those other pesky players.  I have often wished I could have my own personal Xbox Live server without the hassel of having to play against anyone else.

Are you gonna reroute the internet too? You need a totally independant IP.

no you dont. make it use your own dns server, like the Phantasy Star Online hacks for the gamecube.

good luck on creating the program, i'll use it if you get it to a releasable point. smile.gif

So, Destroyer[NL], how is your project going? Please, do keep us posted on your progress. Perhaps this could be a learning experience for all of us.

Best to lock this thread.

If he's serious and gets somewhere, he can PM me and I'll gladly unlock it, however chances are he's just getting into something way over his head and doesn't really know what is needed.

The encryption alone is going to keep you busy for awhile anyways, let alone redirecting and reverse engineering of the live protocol.
