I just did this.
I'm having trouble.
audio exploit loading evox (I'm not loading pbl at this point, just audio signed evox dash),
loading an audio signed copy of pbl (tried both 1.3.5i and 1.3), trying to load numerous BFM dashes (including Complex_4627_Debug_BFM-1MB in case you ask, seems to be a standard)
debug dash 4627, hex edited per your guide. placed on the drive as per your guide
I have the key's and what not so don't give them to me, and I don't want them.
It's hanging on the evox green load screen when I go to select Phoenix from the menu (no error messages, just some HD activity then nothing, stays at that screen). I can't get past this point. I'm guessing this doesn't even have to do with the debug dash, and my xdk doesn't matter yet.. since I can't run the dash or load the bios.. I'm assuming its purely a pbl issue at the moment (but either way the debug dash is in the right place).
I've seen this problem mentioned before but haven't seen a solution. If no one can help I'm going to just start from scratch and do it all again and see how it goes, but if someone can help please fill me in.
Thanks.

I am having a similar problem. I have a Matrix modded v1.0 xbox and I am trying to get PBL to load so I can boot a debug bios (too big to fit on Matrix chip) using the font exploit method. I follow the tutorials that I found here on "Making a debug xbox the easy way", but after copying over all the files and rebooting the xbox it just sits there at the "loading" screen when I choose the PBL from my evox menu. I am not trying the Easy PBL, but it's just hung up at the "Collecting Xbox C Content for the Font install". I read the FAQ and I saw that it said it's not really hung up, but it's been sitting here for 20 minutes now and nothing has happened. I think that it really shouldn't take that long. Should it??

Are you trying to load PBL from evox? I've heard that evolution X might be the source of the problem and downgrading to an older version might do the trick
I haven't had time to try it yet; real life has had me in a time contraint for the past while..

or usually IGR is a problem in evox, make sure you have the latest one (its the beest for igr), alse turn off all 3 instances of IGR in the options

Worked here.. however I would prefer to install everything on F. Is there a debug BIOS with partition 6 support?

Converting your retail xbox to debug w/o f'n anything up (softmod friendly)
by kornkob
Notes: "shouldn't" muck with anything because everything is contained to e: and no system files are overwrote... NOTHING is done to c:. Everywhere that's mentioned to change "Partition2" is to switch the file to use e: instead of c:. VERY easy to convert but don't try it if you aren't good at following directions or don't understand something.
Needed Tools:
-Complex 4627 debug dash (good luck finding this heh, xbins no-no)
-TATX dual debug or Complex 4627 debug bios, BFM version for softmodded boxes
-Hex editor (i use AXE)
-modded xbox (i use audio exploit that loads phoenix bios loader w/ x2 4977)
-Phoenix Bios Loader (i use PBL 1.3.5i) if using softmodded box
-Debug RC4 key (not quite sure how i got it, another underground thing)
-XDK (if you want to use remote debugging and developing applications, taking screen shots and capturing movies)
------Overview-----
Convert a modded xbox to debug with no risk, everything contained in e:
If using a chipped box, skip the pheonix bios loader part, just flash a non-bfm version of the bios to your chip
------Preparing Phoenix bios Loader and copying over------
Extract PBL to its own folder
Edit the boot.cfg in wordpad (formats the text right), comment out the EEPROM line for the xbox you don't have (use a # to do this) and add in the RC4 key to boot.cfg
Place your chosen bios into the bios folder and ftp it over to your xbox somewhere on e: (i use e:appsdebugdash)
------Preparing files and copying them over------
Extract all of the dash to its own folder
Open up edashboard.xbx in a hex editor, replace Partition2 with Partition1 (switching the path to use for opening xshell.xbe)
Open up cxshell.xbe in the hex editor, replace all occurances of Partition2 with Partition1 (might not be case sensitive, so search for partition2 as well)
Copy c and e and put them on e: on your xbox, keep all directory structure the same
Boot up your xbox and run PBL, hit A when it says and pick your bios. You should then be greeted by the almighty Debug Loader.
Optional Step:
------Screenshot/Movie Capturing------ *Need XDK*
Install Xbox Neighborhood, then add an xbox and put in the ip or machine name you assigned to it. Right click on it and you can take screenshot and movie captures.

Need guinea pigs to try it out, make sure i didn't leave anything out
edit: thanks for moving, not sure what forum it would go under
