what dash does this patch work for?
and what exactly does it do to the dash?

well i dunno what it does, i just opened it up and it says "Xbox Dash Update" program. Seriously I have no idea... No honestly.. I dont :-)  jester.gif

this patch is for those of us finding it difficult to mod our dash board. What it does is patches the required files, then upload it in xbox and you'll have a modified dash.

After patching, Only thing we need to do is extract the "default.xip"using Pixit then open default.xap(e.g.Notepad) and modify the Applications and Game location in our HD. Then resign xboxdash.xbe using Pixit.

No. it only works on LIVE dashboard (v4920). If you don't have LIVE dash, then backup all content of drive c: ifrom xbox. Run a game that has LIVE support( i did it with MidtownMadness3). then play LIVE, this woun't let you actually play LIVE(need LIVE starter kit) but it will update your dash.
