As everyone is aware, when running an OS on a HDD, the file system eventually gets fragmented.
Could this be an issue for the Xbox that will effect, read/seek times ?
If so is there anyway to optimize the HDD for performance, or is this not something the Xbox will suffer from
I mean this as a user on an upgraded HDD 120GB will games installed
Any advise would be appreciated

Thats ok but what about general day to day fragmentation caused by movement of files,
I copy stuff onto the xbox, then delete it after a while if I dont need it. I know this isn't going to cause as much fragmentation as say a swap file or some thing that changes constantly but my musical tastes vary and if I don't listen to an album or whatever for a few weeks it'll get removed to make way for another one.
This will *eventually* need defragging surely?

I agree,
I do exactly the same thing.
Once I`m done using a BACKUP or done with musinc im bored if, I too delete etc etc
So yeah I guess this would cause fragmentation of some kind.
Surly this will be a problem to come ????
Anyone else got any thoughts on this???

I think I read that someone was creating a defrag app.
