Quality media almost always helps. My xbox hates cdrws with a passion. Pioneer dvd-rws work about 75% of the time, once they load there is not a problem. Memorex dvd-r suck the big one, I had problems with them on an old and new xbox. My favorit of all is apple dvd-rs. I have never had a problem with one on xbox or ps2. I found them to be even better then pioneer dvd-rs. I am fortunate to be able to buy the apple dvd-rs if I take an 45min drive instead of having to order them online. They cost me $25 for five which is not the best price for media but I would rather pay for the piece of mind. I always run a test burn on a dvd-rw before burning to a dvd-r. I know some people claim that cheaper media works but other people say that it doesn't. Untill I can test them for myself without having to buy a spindle i am sticking with these. I have heard lots of problems with different dvd-rs but I have never heard a complaint about apple on ps2 or xbox. The apple disk also seem to be better about not scratching.

i put multiple games on basically all my discs and the only slow down i get is when you select the game and it begins to load. no advice i could give except check your media and if your burning at 2x, go to 1x.
-
It doesn't do it when I put only one game to a disk. I have heard of other peple having this problem to a few weeks ago. I am just wondering if they got to the bottom of this. Does anxbox iso creation utillity help.

Well if it's that important I'm sure there's a program maybe in the SDK that could optimize the disc for access time just like some CD burning software dose (have you tried that by the way?).
You would be the first though. Let us know what you find.

Why don't you use evox to make a boot menu? This works great! The best part is you don't need to put the games files in the root. So if you have to games with the same file this works fine.
-
Because were not putting multiple games on our hard drives we're putting multiple games on DVD.
-
HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Just If you still don't know what I mean What I do is put the evox default.xbe, menu.ini to the root of my DVDR game. Then I put the games in their own folders on the DVDR game. Then I edit the menu.ini for only the Games D:\Folder name\default.xbe the rest I take out.
-
Its not a bad idea but does it actually help the in game load time issues due to the dvd file system not being optimized. I might do what you said ,but I would still make an xbox filesystem iamge with the gdfimage tool in the xdk.
-
Well I made another DVDR with evox as the boot menu as I described before, but this time I tried what you said about using the iso maker from SDK. Well I can tell you that the drive reads the disc smoother, but I can't really see much of a difference in load time. I will continue to test this. The SDK iso maker works much better than any other iso maker out their.
I can't find silent hill at blockbuster so I used Star Wars StarFighter and Test Drive.

Im having a problem with the xmenu by complex(the ripped menu from xbox demos) the menu boots fine everytime. But once i try and load up games I get stuck on the loading screen most of the time forcing me to reboot. This is very annoying.
I was thinking of building an xISO to see if this would give better results. However, correct me if im wrong, but normal DVD drives cant read this file format. So i wouldnt be able to easily dump the games to my hd(unless i use EvoX)

yeah i read that before.
I tried leaving the xbmedia folder on the dvd... however i havent noticed any difference. The games load 25% of the time. sometimes it takes 10 reboots before i can load the game. And what did u mean about adjusting the laser?
