Searching with apt-get?  huh.gif  Do you mean searching in the software manager?

Sadly I have tried this in the past.  running either koepte or pidgin.  Neithr work to my knowledge.

It seems most chat clients have changed there settings now here you cannot talk on older software anymore. the only thing I can suggest to do in xdsl is go to e-buddy.  Google and and you can find it.  it is aim, msn, and yahoo among others that run in your browser.  I recall running it in the past.

software manager? that wouid be 'my dsl'  i think
and i can only get 'gaim' and it doesnt work..

One more useful tip, under mydsl you can download the packagemanager synaptic.  you can install many more programs then what mydsl has.  They may have more IM clients in there to use.  Haven't used it in a long time so i don't know.  hope this helps.

many apps in xdsl and well dsl itself are dated. gaim is so old and so many im clients have changed how they work it probably does not work anymore. you can use the web based one called meebo.
