Title: Xebian - Xfree86 Setup
Post by: Putin on April 13, 2005, 01:51:00 AM
Hi, I've searched all over for this and can't get anything I've found to work.

I'm running Xebian on a softmodded box and just got some component cables in the hope that I could actually read what's dispayed on my TV.
The display now comes through crystal clear but it is shifted up and to the left (it was always centered through AV). Some tinkering with fbset has got it into a more reasonable position but it's far from perfect.

What I really want is proper widescreen output from Xebian. I've followed the HDTV HOW TO on xbox-linux and found a bunch of different Modeline setups to try but all I ever get is garbage. Even just switching to 800x600 screws it up! My TV supports 480p and 1020i, has anyone out there had similar problems?  Anyone managed to setup their XF86Config to get anything other than 640x480?

My machine uses the Focus video chip and is running Xebian 2.4.26
