Title: Tv On Xebian : Recompile Kernel?
Post by: jean_pol on July 21, 2004, 06:52:00 AM
Hi!

I'm the owner of a wonderful  usb-tv-tuner device (Studio PCTV with bt848 chip).
I tried to make it working on my Xebian but I can't find the /dev/video or /dev/v4l/video device on my filesystem.

I made some research about TV on USB and apparently, I can use usbvision (my tv tuner is supported) which is a driver for video4linux which capture video (like a webcam) . But since I've not the video device file I can't use my tv tuner.

So what I'm supposed to do?
Shall I recompile the kernel with video device support?
Is there a ready made program to use usb TV tuner?
Is it possible to make it works?

Any clue would be welcomed.
Thanks!
