Your best bet would be to install a pre-flashed chip then just nuke the HDD and rebuild it using any Ux based boot disc.

You can try using a Babylon or AutoBuilder5.1 disc and an E12 hotswap to rebuild it. Although I cant say for sure you wont get that Read Only error. Ive personaly never seen that with any of mine or Kingroachs installers and seems very weird.
