can you bootup hexen disk?
I would use that to install the softmod You may need to ftp the updated dash folder to the c:\ drive of the xbox 1st though.
hexen will let you do that and it will bypass the shadow c for you 2.
It may be possible to simply use file explorer to copy the stock files from the hexen disk to the xbox's c drive.
when you have the stock flies back on c: correctly. Do the 1 click softmod install "i like krazies" you can use kingroach if you want.
follow the instructions on screen and do a basic install not minimal.
Hopefuly that will work for you.
remember burn hexen "heimdals xbox engineering disk" to dvd-r at 4x or slower.
