with a 1.0.. i would tsop the motherboard and then install the drive with the hexen disk in the dvd player (just my personal preference)

Get The eeprom from the xbox; create a mew xboxhdm disk with the eeprom. Format the hard drive using xboxhdm and lock it. Dont worry about formatting F/G drives now. After you create the xbox hard drive; plug it in the xbox and see if it works. If your xbox boots; use "Xbox partition tools" software ( found in xbins) to format the F and G drive.

Alternatively, or if you don't have a PC with an IDE port, then you can use lxhdm to build the new disk in your Xbox. HeXEn (Google Heimdall's Xbox Engineering Disk) has a scripted lxhdm implementation with on-line help - all you need is an external power source (e.g. an external disk enclosure or a PC) for the new disk.

You skipped the bit where you read the instructions that explain what you need to do......
Also, you burn HeXEn to a disc, then use it to install a disk.
-
What makes you think that?
To get the eeprom contents you use Config Magic, or Evox, or xman954's eeprom dumper, or use HeXEn option 3.6.

looks like it's error 13.
I think I should just use lxhdm. How should I wipe this drive?

Can anyone help me out as far as wiping the drive clean for a fresh transfer?
