also why not use the game save exploit cause i see that you have already modded at least one xbox all you have to do is ftp the gamesave straight to the memory card so all you would need is the game and a memory card

Which method did you use for unlocking the HD before of the HotSwap ?
I've done the job with two 1.6 and the only method working was to copy a song on the HD from the original Dash.
After that I played that song for 5 seconds and I put it in pause.
In this way the HD is surely unlocked and the HotSwap worked at the first time.
I know that this is the only method working and tested on 1.6 consolles.

and all went perfectly on his machine. I guess the gamesave exploit is a way to soft mod according to our experiences and other sources.
