Title: Please Help Me! I Screwed Something Up!
Post by: AZImmortal on December 22, 2008, 02:39:00 PM
All things that break work fine up to a certain point.  Based on what you said you've done, it doesn't sound like you would've broken your softmod, and even if you did, it shouldn't cause an error 11.  You can try cold booting a game disc to see if it loads the game, but you should check to make sure that your cables are all plugged in properly.

After I posted, my XBOX managed to launch the evox dash one last time. It seemed to be working fine but after I turned it off, it started giving me error 11. So at least I know I didn't mess up the softmod since I know the evox dash still works.

I just put in a 120GB hdd  and had just finally loaded most of my games so I think I'm going to replace the drive. I'll spend the $50 or whatever I have to on ebay and get one I know will last a long time since I will rarely be using my dvd drive anymore.

I bet copying most of my games today finally wore the dvd out. I had a couple games that were scratched badly so the XBOX really worked hard for awhile only to fail to copy. That probably put some extra strain on the drive.

Oh, yeah. I double checked all my cables and connections. Everything is in order so I guess that just confirms my dvd is dead. wacko.gif

Thanks for the help!

Hmmm. I just let my XBOX sit awhile and tried again. Now I'm getting an error 13.

I'm not quite sure how that could be seeing as my dash was just working fine and I haven't done anything to change XBOX MS dash version.

Could having a bad dvd drive cause an error 13?
