Title: Have I Discovered Something Of Interest?

I Was In the X-DSL Live Disc settings (Just before it loads linux,the blue screen) i went into the video options and changed my Xbox from PAL to NTSC (To play some of my games).Now unlike the Enigmah Disc where when you power off your xbox,it goes back to PAL,My Xbox is now NTSC? Even if power is cut off?

Now that got me thinking,if a V1.6 Xbox's BIOS Chip is Read-only,Then how did X-DSL Change my region from PAL to NTSC?

And if this is impossible,how do i DOUBLE check for sure that i have a 1.6 Xbox?
