Title: Bricked Xbox?

Recently I bought a new game for my xbox..and i started to create a gamesave and such at the menus, and it froze. The video froze, and the audio started emitting a high-pitched sound. The xbox was softmodded.

Had my EEPROM backed up so used it and xboxhdm to return to stock, and booted the M$ dash only to find that it froze after about 5 seconds as well...

I really would like a working xbox...suggestions??

was going to, but then my FTP access only lasted 5 seconds at most...so here is what i am left with

-stock xbox that freezes after 5 seconds of gameplay/dash
-eeprom backup
-xboxhdm

have you tried cold booting a disc?
if not i dont really see any other option but using xbhdm to format and redo

maybe its overheating.. take out the case and run the xbox to see how long it stays..

coldbooting boots the game, then freezes 20 seconds into the menu.

as far as overheating...it happened when the xbox hadn't been on for days...within 5 seconds...

Update:

Removed HDD & DVD Drives

Booted, freezes halfway into the "blob" thing.

Would this be a BIOS issue or something sinister?

Should I just go buy a used xbox?
