ok just a quick question. i have an xbox sitting on a shelf that was the second one i ever tried to mod, seems like so long ago. anyway, i have the eeprom.bin file but i dont know the kernal version, it boots up but is just blank with no error screen. is there anyway that i can get it from the mobo like i can with my eeprom reader? also in boot up it does have M$ under the splash.
thanx for any help

Hi,
you could try a softmod with a Kernel independent font. Once you are able to run a dashboard again, you can look at the Kernel version and install the Kernel specific font. Make sure you delete both font files and ftp them back in the right order if you do it manually.
The eeprom file contains the manufacturing place and date of the xbox. I assume this information should lead to a specific kernel version, but I have never found a list of this.
regards.
