Hello all,

I attempted the Ndure softmod today and it worked great.  Well, for some reason I thought I needed to try the Sid 4.0 install.  I followed everything by the books.  But, when I got the point to restart system and press "a" to finish the install it would freeze on me.  So, I dedided to go through and unistall the softmod and all that stuff.  Well now i'm stuck inthe Evoloution dashboard.  Not the EvoX, but the blue one that just has the options of "Launch Game" and "System Settings".  I would like to get back my M$ dashboard and try this again, but through this evolution dash, I cant even reach my harddrive.  Any suggestions and help would be greatly appreciated!

hey, cereal...

man, is this a big file.  Anyhow, im so anxious and cant wait any longer.  What exactly do I do with the files once downloaded?  I unfortunately don't have a DVDburner, but I have a cdrw.  I actually happen to have 1 blank cdrw disk.  Do I use a program such as Nero and just burn the contents to the disk?  Again, any help is much appreciated.

And, so I dont piss anybody else off, mods, I'll go through and read every rule.  As being brand spanking new to themodding scene, I would like to soak in every peice of info needed...the right way.  Thanks again for the link cereal, hope all works out once its downloaded!

P.S. (yes I have the manual in pdf form, but I didn't see it in there..so if im missing it, could someone please reference me to where its located in the manual? e.g. pg #?... thanks)

After you have all the files just extract the rar files. Then you will have an ISO and some other files. Burn the ISO using Alochol 120% or Nero and burn it as an image.

Then just follow the instructions to remove Ndure and restore the mod. Basically you will boot the gamesave backdoor and select to "remove softmod and restore from disc" then select the correct kernel (take note of it while in the CASH menu) then it will reboot and you can restore C and E and re-install Ndure from the disc. You will have FTP access while CASH is running, backup anything in C and E before you use the options to format to stock+Ndure (gamesaves are in E:\UDATA and E:\TDATA).

yeah, not to sound extremely dumb... but

There are 8 diffrent parts to the download, each containing its own ISO file.  Which do I use or burn to the disk?

It's a self-extracting rar, when you extract one rar it extracts them all, so basically just double click on the first rar and select where to extract, it will extract all of the compressed data at once to wherever you choose to extract it to.

well... so far no luck.  Everytime it says it went though, but when I load/reload my box again.. bam, same blue screen.  I wish I never installed that damn SID 4.0 shit.  Oh well, lets have another go again.

Are you booting the gamesave and selecting "restore from rescue disc" and then selecting the fonts? If you don't do that then it still has the Shadow C in place and will prevent the drive from being restored and any option you would run wouldn't work (sounds kinda like what your saying). If you ONLY select "stock+Ndure saves" then it will seem to wipe the drive and put all the files on, but you would still boot to the same "recovery dash" that your booting to.  wink.gif

that might be my problem.  How exactly do I boot the gamesaves?  I dont have any game saves now and I have no access to my hdd.  I've been going to the setion marketed as "Softmodded with another .... "  I then go to Stock + Ndure 1.1.1 saves as you mentioned.  I realize now that Im doing it wrong.  I read the manual, but it mentions that I have to be able to boot the gamesaves (i'm using splinter cell by the way) and I dont see any way of doing this....

Follow section "How to format Ndure v1.1 and go back to Stock+Ndure v1.1.1" on page 17. That's pretty much step by step of what you need to do.

If the gamesave has already been removed it should be there now anyway since you used the "Stock+Ndure v1.1.1".

Cereal, I hate to be your burden today, but...

I just started it.. Everything goes well until step six....

I see the games above, but they are "Whitted/grayish" and I cant scroll up to them, only "Back to Main Menu" can be selected.  What now?

From the main menu you can go into section "I'm softmodded/Ndure v1.1" or "I'm softmodded w/Ndure v1.0" and use one of the options to copy the gamesaves onto the HDD. Then see if you can boot the gamesave and continue from there.

nope man, dont work ... think my xbox is a gonner.  almost thought about throwing it against the wall, but decided that wasn't too smart.  So now, I have a gaming console that can only play Splinter Cell.... how great.  lol, sorry for the ranting, its my own fault (i guess).  should've never messed with it.  Maybe a mod chip will take care of everything?

Modchip or if you have a copy of the eeprom on your PC you can re-build it with XBOXHDM. I don't think the eeprom is still there, but if so then it's in E:\backups and the file you want is eeprom.bin. When CASH is in you have FTP access.

nope.. only cashe.  Hey man thanks for the help.  But I guess I'll just go look into modchips now.  I've never done one and my soldering skills are less that minimal.  I'll just either have to practice or search for a decent solderless unit.  Thanks again!

You can also hotswap the HDD into your PC to rebuild it with xboxhdm.

hey, my xbox actually still plays games fine.  My halo 2 disk is just fucked up.  So, would it be possible to copy my buddies UDATA/TDATA files over through ftp to my xbox and possible retry the softmod?  Or maybe even apply Krayzies Extras or something.. because my evox dash still works and plays games... but, it only has the two options of "launch game" and "system settings."  Think this could work?

forgot to mention that my buddies xbox is softmodded with ndure and cash v1.1.1... I actually successfully done this right after I fucked mine up... go figure wink.gif

If you can still launch discs you can burn krayzie's extras, or CASH, to a DVD and launch it from there - this will give you FTP access and so on.

hey, sorry didn't get back sooner... finals are killing me

anyhow, xfering the TDATA/UDATA actually worked and that was the only method I got to work.  I cant get Cash v1.1.1 disk to work on my system.. I 've tried and tried and blah blah blah.  So, the only app my box currently has is 2xDvd or whatever... I cant seem to get any emus, etc xfered through FTP still though... I dont know what to do about that.  Guess  I wont worry, I get my SmartXX tomarrow.  Thanks for all the help guys, much appreciated!
