Title: Config Magic Problem After Softmod With Xboxhdm And Ndure..
Post by: Krill123 on March 13, 2006, 10:32:00 AM
Hey,

Having a weird problem.. I attempted to softmod my brand new (Bought it last week) 1.6 xbox using the old/obsolete xboxhdm instructions. I did it twice but xbox would boot up with garbage on the screen after the flubber animation. Garbage was like 10 line sof orange and blue on top of screen. So I uninstalled the softmod. rebooted and the dash still works.

I then found out about the xboxhdm+Ndure softmod. So decided to try it.
Got an error at step 2 of Ndure script saying "Error.. Out of disk space."  I cleaned up C: and E: drives (I made sure to only get rid of the garbage)... I re-ran the script 4 times. But always got that error. So I decided to ignore that error and tried to boot the xbox. And it booted up great. It gets into Unleash X.
But the dashboard isn't working.  Eh.. I don't really care cause I'm planning on installing a bigger HD.

NOW all I need is the eeprom.bin file. So I FTP'd and installed Config Magic Final on the xbox. Booted up in Unleash X. Went to apps and ran Config Magic Final. It gave me "Invalid xbox version". Damn..
So I read up on it and went into the .ini file and forced config magic to try loading up xboxversion=1.0... Booted xbox and got same error. So I changed in the ini again from 1.0 to 1.1... Tried and still same error.  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

wtf?

So I'm at a loss.. Is there another program I can use to dump to eeprom.bin?  Or a way around that error in config magic?

I'm thinking that maybe the obsolete xboxhdm hack probably has something to do with this.. ?  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/uhh.gif)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated..

evox's backup feature will do it.

After reading your response..  I briefly looked ath the evox manual and saw that the first option is save backup of eeprom in c:\backup. So it *should* work. I never thought of that. I always used evox on chipped boxes.
Thank you though!  I'll try it tonight.
