Title: Xbox Does Not See Full 250gb Hdd...
Post by: domesticman on February 09, 2006, 10:19:00 AM
Just modded my friends xbox w/ndure (first time to use it and it was awesome) and he has a 250gb hdd and it's not seeing the full hdd.

I remember reading about people having this same problem when I modded mine but didn't pay attention because I just have a small HDD. Now I can't find those posts.

We didn't see an option w/ndure to use .6 or .67? that I remember seeing something about to fix this.

We have access to ftp, mem cards, unleashx and evox (I read someone say they fixed the problem with this dash but didn't explain how...)

Thanks!

you probably need to format F and G. What exactly did you use?

xboxhdm does not prepare the G, it makes F take the rest of the drive, hence a .06 setup.

any drives larger than 250Gig should use a .67, if you are using a .67 , just format G from your dash, and the rest of the space should be available.

Use the Extras feature. It has some format options in it.

I'll give it a shot after work then. Any other details needed would be appreciated.

Thanks for the help.

As a fella with a similar problem, actually the same I believe.  Could I please get a little more detail on how to use your format tool, and should I use the npatcher .6 or .67 on top of the mod.

Your response is much appreciated.

.06 = F takes rest of HD after inital 8gigs

.67 = F takes to 137gig and G will takes rest.

you can use .06 on HD upto 250, because F will only be 242,

Partitions over 247 start corrupting, so any drives over 250 should use a .67 setup.

you can alos use a .67 on any drive, but G will not be available unless the drive exceeds 145gig

Well fellas (and ladies if that's the case).  Leave it to me to make the seemingly simple so difficult.  During lunch I went home and set the G: drive to on, and ftp'd the .67 to the apps folder.  It didn't show as an app even after a reboot so I found it through the file explorer and clicked it.  A loading screen then appeared that said Loading NPatcher V11, but then the screen would go blank and it would freeze up.  I tried it twice and then tried it with the .6 and had the same result.  Please advise.  Again the help is very appreciated.

I used xbpartitioner and in 5 minutes I got one big F-partition.

xbox 1.6b
kernel 5838 with dash 5960
hd 300 gb

softmod with xboxhd 1.9 and uxe with nkpatcher

although I don't completely understand what was the point of resurrecting a thread that died 2 months ago but I am pleased to see a member that did his fair share of searching before posting instead of the usual asking for obvious questions and whining when the help is not some spoonfed fest

i whould like to see the .06 / .67 - selection in the installer itself again, like it was in 1.0! i mean, it`s no big deal to change it with the extras, but it whould be easier to have it in the installer...just my opinion. maybe you should start a poll wink.gif

To tell you the truth I got a bit sick of all the people asking about what option they needed to take. I know it's in the readme and in the textboxes but many people don't seem to read such things.
