(Sorry, I couldn't edit my old post)  If I can get MA to load the Run Linux gamesave I can fix my box because I finally downloaded Slayer's boot disc.  I have the gamesave on the USB key, but when I go into the MA campaign menu it doesn't show the gamesave.  What other things could I try to make it recognize the gamesave on the usb key.  When I did it on my firends I went to the M$ dash and copied it to the HD. On mine I cannot get to the M$ dash.  When i installed UDE 1 MA read the gamesave off the USB key, but MA won't load UXE off the USB key. What other ways should I try to make it read off the USB key, I dont know anyone with a M$ mem card. I really do not wan't to try the hot swap, especially if I know I can get it working if I can load the gamesave.

Well if you have a backup of the eeprom its pretty simple. You can use xbxhdm to restore the drive back to ms dash with slayers ms dash. Then just run the gamesave again and luanch your installer. If you do not have the eeprom anywhere, then you got some probs. Did you install evox, did you do a backup?

On my original UDE 1 I did a backup, and I FTP'ed and saved my C folder, my TDATA, and my UDATA. Is the eeprom in any of these? Also is there any way to get MA to see the usb key. The MS dash reads it fine, but MA doesn't see it. Do you guys think that if I bought a mem card and put the MA krayzie installer on it, would MA recognize it?

Talking about tray open sounds like you were using ldots' ltools installer.
Anyway, wherever evox was launched from, that's where the eeprom backup is. Look in udata\ for the save folder for Mechassault. its 4d4**something if I recall. Look for a folder called "backup", and find eeprom.bin.

Or, unzip/unrar all your backed up stuff, and do a search in windows for eeprom.bin, and hope you have it.
1st thing you ALWAYS do when you get ftp access on any xbox, run the backup function and get the eeprom.bin off the xbox.

Good luck.

Cool! If you are sure this is the eeprom from this xbox. It should be simple to get back to where you were.

1) Download xbxhdm from the usual place.
2) Extract it, then place you eeprom into the eeprom folder, this is in the linux folder.

Now there are a million tuts for using xbxhdm so I am not gonna go into detail. If you have slayers or a backup of your xbox dash place it in Linux->C.
If you need a copy you can get it from slayers, use qwix to etract the iso. It is in the System->ALL->C.

3) Copy everything here and put it into the Linux->C.
4) Then double click make-iso-win.bat it will then create a new file inside the           xbxhdm folder called linux.iso.

5) Burn this as image using whatever you like, I like Nero
6) Connect you xbox hd to the Primary IDE, boot up, select option 3, type unlockhd -a, this should unlock the drive
7) reboot, go to option 1. Type xboxhd, select option 2, when prompted to copy files from cd type yes.
8) Reboot, option 3, lockhd -a.

Your done. Now you have a new drive with ms dash, do your softmod all over, no need to copy files to hd they should be there. Just try to luanch it from MA.

I have another problem, my computer only allows one IDE perhiperal to be attached to it, and my CD drive is IDE. So I can't to the xboxhdm thing. I had another idea though. Since MA wont read directly from the USB key, can I get an actual xbox mem card and put the hacked save on it? Do you guys think MA will see it then? I am going to get a cheaper non M$ brand mem card, do you guys think this is alright?  Once I get krayzie's UXE loader running I can clear my xbox again because this time I have the slayer cd.

I really appreciate everyones help so far. This is one of the best forums ive ever gotten help in. Thanks for being such great people and im sorry im such a hassle.

I may be in luck...

Do you guys think that if I buy one of these http://software.stud...l?PartNo=714923
it will fix my box?

And I have 2 choices...
$5 from here http://software.stud...l?PartNo=714923

or

$20 from
http://customxbox.ne...disc-p-342.html

I dont mind paying the extra money if I know I am going to get better service.  So has anyone ever ordered from either of these places?

No I cant boot the MS dash, and I know how to install the softmod. I messed it up uninstalling.  I have modded firends xboxs many times.  I am not a complete noob I just made a mistake. Like I said before my HD is not IDE, its not external either.  My mobo has one IDE slot, and another that looks like IDE but is to small to fit the IDE ribbon cable. I know how a computer works and goes together. My dad's pc is a bit older so I am going to try it on that.
