I know I'm in the wrong place to ask this but I'm gunna anyway. Is it possible to do a similar thing with a PS2? i know that you can fit a hard drive to a PS2 and a network card so i cant be that difficult to get it to play games from the hard drive right?

here are DVDs to boot the PS2 and then swap them with, e.g., backup games, and there are external HDs to run games from.

www.hdadvance.com

Or you can find a patched version, Boot it from a memcard via the independence exploit and load it up.
You launch hdloader/hdadvance, swap in your game disc, copy it to the hd. THen whenever you want to play, load up hdadvance, select your game from the onscreen menu, and play with alot less load times.

Don't pay for any HD Loader software (especially HD Advance), its basically a rip-off from the free HD Loader software, whihc was hacked to change the backgroung and some of the wording.

Anything to do with playing backups from the HDD and other PS2 stuff can be found here, in the PS2 HDD Discussion area.
Most of the stuff is pretty easy to do, just make sure (as with any forum) you search first, and lots of reading.

I agree. The pressed hdadvance discs will let me install the exploit easier, without having to boot a burned disc once to load the exploit.

Create the iso that will install the exploit to my card.
Install the iso using hdldump/winhiip
launch the iso with hdadvance disc.
Exploit will install to the mem card.
No need for original hdadvance disc. Just easier, is all. I do all the modding in my social circle, don't have access to a chipped box or a swapmagic.

Kind of like I keep my MA disc/memcard standing by to mod with.
Different strokes for different folks...

Meh. Although usually a manual installer myself, I just downloaded a pre-built memory card exploit package, an AR Max Evo (for the same price you pay for HDadvance/HDLoader) and copied the save to my memory card. Then I reset the PS2, put  my PS1 game in and ran Hdloader and other apps. No need to burn a CD and no need to buy HDloader/HDadvance. Now when I want to do someone else's PS2, I just put my memory card into their PS2 and copy the gamesave over. Within 2 minutes, they're ready to run HDloader. Much faster than using HDAdvanced and messing with HDD's and what not.

I'm gonna have to check into this! Most of my friends have PS2 and would be very interested. Beats having to use a swap disk and slide card to run backups.

PS2 or not, your still bound by Xbox-Scene's rules.

So if there's any piracy going on here, or anything else against Xbox-Scene's forum rules, you've been warned.
