i personally believe that the only thing that caused bannings were the marriage theory. virtually everyone who was banned had upgraded hard drives (i think) the rest was just people leaving chips on or trying to go into live in some other form of modded state.

if that is actually true.....
......then it is indeed possible to play an exploited xbox on live providing that retails are cold booted.
yeah I obviously understand that altough that was not what I was aiming at.
hmm double post
what are you aiming at?
tell me, i want to know now.
if not pm me.
you should pay more attention totall ass
I've developed a few theories on how the 'ol 'live backup' trick with xboxdash.xbe was detected and closed. Many of these ideas could lead to a fix, but this isn't something that would be welcomed in the xbox scene. Which is why I never shared info originally. No matter how many checks they decided to add on their service, there will always be ways around them or to prevent them. AFAIK, it seems MS didn't realize that this flaw wasn't the only one in existance at the time they upgraded their 'security'.
ok fair enough...

scaned OLD modchip?
i have two other xbox's with upgraded HDD's and no modchip
that have been on live before should try them with my flaged GT ?
yeah not that I want the scene to mess up cuz of people abusing live. I just was curious if the backup bannings would affect anything on a normal softmodded xbox setup. The xboxdash.xbe scans were the only relationship between them. Since people nowadays seem to play live fine by coldbooting they must check something not related to the mod itself.
