Isn't that redundant? I mean, if you're even using xboxhdm, you probably have some sort of issue with your current hard drive... l

let alone the fact that it's not really an xbe exploit (IE: Wrong Forum)...

This would only be doable on an xbox that is chipped. a soft-modded xbox would not do, especially if you're thinking of cloning a hard drive by replacing the dvd drive with a hard drive... not possible without a chip. |

This one allows you to upgrade your HD in place. The difference between this and ldot's xboxhdm is that his run on PC, mine run on Xbox. Mine is designed for people who are : 1. extremely rich and runs Mac 2. extremely poor who doesn't have a burner nor a PC(I am using a 5 years old notebook) 3. extremely lazy Now people said that hotswap/hotplug may have the remote possibility of damaging your IDE device as it is not designed for such activities so if you are paranoid and do have a PC, play safe and use xboxhdm. EDIT: thanks for ipodder2003 for hosting the file, the package can also be found here http://jono.forbiddenvoid.com/files/chimp26.zip , though there is no instruction but it should be pretty easy to follow This post has been edited by chimpanzee on Aug 25 2004, 06:25 AM

Not necesarily...... if you install for others, then you'll understand how it's a bit more annoying to have to take your comp apart each time you wanna replace the HDD... or at least it is for me.... and of my 3 computers in the house, only one (the old, slow ass computer in my bro's room) doesn't freeze HDD's upon connection, so I have to use that to upgrade HDD's.. Well where else should it go? Considering all the other softmod HDD upgrade/XboxHDM were in this same board, I thought it would be appropriate to post it here.... Couldn't you hotswap after the exploit loads?

All being covered, follow me :-) Except that you cannot do it for other machines(well no point to, not that it cannot be done as even this feature is considered and implemented) as you need that machine's EEPROM to lock HD for it but by the time you have its EEPROM, you already has some sort of exploit running. Then why not just do the in place upgrade on that machine, one less Xbox to open.
