Title: Xboxhdm On Linux Xbox?

Well I was just wondering, since XboxHDM (great tool for HDD upgrades) is basically a linux distro, couldn't you get it to run on a linux Xbox? I guess there would be no real purpose to this if your computer works, but it would be nice if we could get XboxHDM running on a Linux Xbox, and it could solve the problems some are having with XboxHDM on their PC's.

Isn't that redundant? I mean, if you're even using xboxhdm, you probably have some sort of issue with your current hard drive... let alone the fact that it's not really an xbe exploit (IE: Wrong Forum)...

This would only be doable on an xbox that is chipped. a soft-modded xbox would not do, especially if you're thinking of cloning a hard drive by replacing the dvd drive with a hard drive... not possible without a chip.

Not necesarily...... if you install for others, then you'll understand how it's a bit more annoying to have to take your comp apart each time you wanna replace the HDD... or at least it is for me.... and of my 3 computers in the house, only one (the old, slow ass computer in my bro's room) doesn't freeze HDD's upon connection, so I have to use that to upgrade HDD's..

Couldn't you hotswap after the exploit loads?

Except that you cannot do it for other machines(well no point to, not that it cannot be done as even this feature is considered and implemented) as you need that machine's EEPROM to lock HD for it but by the time you have its EEPROM, you already has some sort of exploit running. Then why not just do the in place upgrade on that machine, one less Xbox to open.

I think he's going along the line, that the xbox in question isnt working.  You could use your xboxhdm restore cd on an xbox to restore the non-working hard disk, without needing a pc.

Use your xbox as a pc, in a sense.

But as chimp said, if you have the eeprom of the non-working xbox, his package will work.

Ahh yes, I forgot about Chimptools ( :P ), I'll give it a shot next time around.
