w/ EvoX or UnleashX as Dash
w/ PBL Meetoo M8 or NKPatcher
2. Backup EEPROM
3. Clear Cache        (Erases E:\CACHE, X:, Y:, Z:)
4. Reboot

** Beta testers will be needed as I dont own this game, and dont plan to smile.gif

Yes. A PAL SC UXE installer is sorely needed. For my on-the-run softmod needs. Plz hurry. I'm dying over here!

"Now your EEPROM is automattically backed up as soon as the gamesave is loaded..."

amend to that.  make sure you write in bold that people should ftp in and download the folder BEFORE going any further.

Some people don't have time to wait and at the end of the day choice is a good thing. I love Ldots installer but I would like a choice, no harm in others showing us their tallents.
I would personaly like an installer that copies over UnleashX, so I have a dash with a file browers on it. Just a thought DaddyJ, if you have time.  :D

Let me know how I can get a copy from ya in due time.

be aware the save cannot include the proper UXE xboxdash.xbe so you will need to patch up the existing update.xbe's like ltools is doing.

smile.gif  I know I've been absent from the scene lately - too much work.
But I promise to make an official ltools v1.8 some time next week (including SC and 007 versions).
Most important change will be that the hacked fonts will now be put in C:\fonts and not the root of C. The reason for that is that bert needs to be loaded by the update.xbe ahead of ernie, and with the way the old FATX filesystem works that could present a problem when B&E are put in C:
Actually, if the RC1 release didn't work for some people that could very well be the reason. Thanks for pointing that out Pedro wink.gif

Actually, xboxdash.xbe files from the following dashes:

QUOTE
4034
4817
4920_10027100
4920_1012a700
5659.01_17e4cd00
5659.03_17f14d00
5960.01_185a6100
5960.01_185ead00

Uncompressed: 13,1 MB
Compressed: 1,59 MB (Using RAR, Best compression, Solid Archive)

I think you could even make it take up less space on the memcard by using ppf-files going up from the lowest dash to the highest.

To get a 5659.17f14d00 dash from a 4034 dash:
4034 >PPF = 4817
4817 >PPF = 4920.10027100
4920.10027100 >PPF = 4920.1012a700
4920.1012a700 >PPF = 5659.17e4cd00
5659.17e4cd00 >PPF = 5659.17f14d00

wink.gif

Edit:
Something else I have been brainstorming about is the use of AvaNetPrep.
This would eliminate the limited size of the memorycard.
(But obviously would require the user to connect the xbox to a pc and manually edit some settings first (for instance sharing a folder on the pc))

What dash supports RAR compressed files or ppf patches ?

But Krayzie's point is not that the files wouldn't fit on the memcard, his concern is that xbins will not host MS copyrighted files.

UnleashX supports RAR.
PPF-XBOXv07a can apply ppf-patches (XBOX\APPS\UTILITIES\PPF-XBOX)

I misread Krayzie's post.
Obviously xbins wont host ms-copyrighted material. Didn't think of that.
Leaves PPF-option open still smile.gif

If only the new MXM would finally be public (still beta but much, much improved. Can't wait for a new release biggrin.gif)

Great input people, and xbins hosting is not really required, but A lite version will be available.

UnleashX is turning into a great alternative.

I will steady be checking and updating, and is going well.

Should be Sunday night.

5. Reboot.

Steps 1 and 4 and either 2 or 3 must be ran, and then when rebooted your xbox will be modded.

Okay, I actually got some time to work on this. Here are the current Stats.

007 AuF game save UXE installer is complete.

MA -25%

SC - 50%

So I will keep updating with the progress as it comes available. I will be setting up a few freeservers to host the gamesaves, as my main website does not have the bandwidth to hold.

(See Main Post for specific details)

Am i missing something here? Is there some reason as to why people preffer evox to unleashx? I use unleash x and seems to have a lot more features than evox.
is there a good reasonn for me to change back to evox?
Title: A New Gamesave
Post by: jimmsta on November 26, 2004, 02:08:00 PM
the only reason why I run evox before unleashx is because I tend to get unleashx to crash... but, it has been a lifesaver for me in the past... the only feature that evox has, of which I wish unleashx had, is the trainers support... I think that that's the only feature that evox has over unleashx, while unleashx has superior rar compression support, and full keyboard support... which I've used a LOT.

I, like many, am an evox brat.  It's what I started with and am most familiar with.  However, after trying and testing out unleash-x, I would like to change my vote.

Evox is the most stable of all the dashboards and is the only dash with the bios flashing feature.

True EvoX is very stable and perhaps the best for a noob to start out on but at least have a link to UnleashX on the main menu of UnleashX. It is such a great app. And UnleashX doesn't want to include bios flashing because that is an easy way to destory your box if you don't know what you're doing. But EvoX does have the backup feature which is nice as then you don't need ConfigMagic to get a copy of your eeprom. Anywho I think UnleashX is a very good dash. I love it and use it everyday. It also has a filemanager. I put it on all the xboxes that I mod for people. They love it also. Thanks for your hard work daddyj.  smile.gif   pop.gif

To DaddyJ: I know that you have to be strick on size when it comes to the memory installer!
Wondering if a 64meg memory card would stir the pot a bit. Like an all in one memory card installer.
Problem is a dont know the coding process to add the multitude of apps and dashes that everyone wants and loves.

Could this happen?

Thank you

Sure it can, but the problem you get into is, not everyone has a 64meg card, also,  corruption becomes an issue.

I chose UnleashX as an installer, based on its excellent batch command ability, you can find great tuts under the UnleashX forum on this board.

Evox is also a great dash, but I chose UnleashX for its built in gamesaves manager, and built in text editor <~ great for editing the config.xml in real time.

I try to make these gamesaves ultra little for 2 reasons.
1. Bandwith issues.
2. Avoid corruption

Please feel free in looking to making your own 64 meg gamesave. A great place to start is with a gamesave hack that offers an evox installer, look at the basic layour they used, and improve with your files.

There seems to be no reason for this to even be released, I was checking out dev's package, and it is pretty much all that I wanted for this package to be.

I might still release it , but like I said , it will be first of the year.
