i realised that i hadn't actually played an xbox game in weeks earlier. believe it or not i spend more time messing around with exploits and customizing things like dashes and bioses more than actually using the xbox for what it was built for lol.

I only play a good game of tiger woods once in a while with some buddy's. The rest is for streaming media and messing with exploits/utilities.

hey i like tiger woods, i only got 2003 though

speaking of media, i read on tomshardware.com that a modded xbox is beter than a £1500 dvd player. probably because of the possibilities media-wise.

well its like when they were planning the xbox they were all.

'arr screw it, stick a 10gig hard drive in, a geforce 3 chipset, 64 meg ram, and a 700 mhz processor. oh and don't forget to stop the execution of unsigned code, job done!'

so you've essentially got a computer without the ability to do what you want on it, but luckily we've fixed that. so the xbox can play pretty much any media format, any game or application providing it has been compiled into an xbe properly and ported, and anything else you want.

I do play some Halo (well most of the time just to check new mods or on a LAN) and I play Beyond Good and Evil (I love that game ) but other than those games I spend a lot of time testing new stuff and playing Divx (although it's way to hot to wach a movie now)

well once an xbox is modded, playing games becomes only one of the things that you can do on it.

I never play xbox games... when I use my xbox it's to play video (XBMC yay!) or to mess with exploits/bios loaders.

I sometimes play PC games - but my PC sucks. Quake 3 lowest EVERYTHING.

When I did have the exploits installed on my system I used it to play TV episodes. I got a good DVD player though, plays my XVid's nicer than the Xbox so I kinda dropped from doing that.

NES, SNES roms mainly.

emulators are cool. i got emus on xbox for nes, snes, genesis/megadrive, psx, n64, gba, amstrad, dos and msx. they are awesome.

i hardly ever use my xbox for playing games, jst use it as a dvd player and stuff like that,

i play the game "driv3r" once in a while and am gonna start playing "full spectrum warrior" so we see how its goes.

of course i have the originals of these.

Yeah, I play games a lot actually.  I have xbmc of course, and emus/roms, but I still play Halo or EoN every once in a while.  Halo on XBC is fun...

Yup, but dvd players nowadays is pretty good too. I can find one that read all media(including a mem card reader for viewing DC pictures) cheaper than Xbox.

The strength of Xbox is in streaming and PVR like functions.

(kinda tough, cant win... and not supposed to loose, so its a catch 21...lol) will dvd+r media work with all thompson drives? (i bought a 50 pack of memorex 4x dvd+r media, and havent tested them yet)btw... some business supply store has em on sale for $39, like officemax or something(through tomorrow)

as for mario 64 my m8 completed that on his n64 with all 120 stars lol. hes helped me find some of the harder ones on surreal lol. im up to 103 stars lol. great game.

Just got that on sale for about $40 australian (which is pretty cheap for xbox).  I'm hooked.

The best part is you get to mod your own car to your liking

i got need for speed underground on pc, its bloody good lol.
il get halo2 and doom3 for xbox when they come out, id prefere doom3 on pc but its only 1.3ghz, i dont think itl be enough. it does hav 512mb ram though so i dont know. we shall c.

For a while I never played games, but recently there has been an outburst of great titles making my xbox more of a games machine than anything else.

My 120gb HD contains some of the following that you simply must try:

- Full Spectrum Warrior
- Riddik
- Prince Of Persia
- Kill.Switch
- GTA III + Vice City
- Halo (Kai Multiplayer)
- R63 (Kai Multiplayer)
- MechAssault (Kai Multiplayer)

And some others that I have hanging around:

- XIII
- FIFA
- Simpsons Hit and Run
- TS2

The list goes on  

Theres only "so" much exploit tinkering and messing around you can do before you have a sweet running xbox after that, its game city

And of course my HD also has around 30 DivX movies and varius TV shows etc..

quake 3 hasn't been ported to the xbox, it is currently only on pc. quake 2 however has been ported.

LOL! Of course not, you thought my xbox was overheating? That's my sucky PC running quake3. I sorted the overheating problem out now - me and my mom cleaned up the inside of the case.. a lot of dust gets stuck in a fan over 4 years hehe. Ok temps running quake3 now...

My Sucky PC

Intel Celeron 500A (Mendocino)
320MB SDRAM (shared with gfx)
Intel i810 chipset/graphics (sucks)
8GB hdd

As you can see my Xbox is better in all respects besides the RAM ;P

unfortunately i also have an integrated intel chipset that steals a large portion of my ram. the fact that the ram is only 256mb (sdr) means that in reality i only have around 190mb free.

i have 2 pcs, they are both around the same spec/era athlon 1ghz and duron 1.3 (the duron is newer thats why its faster lol).
onboard chipsets are not the way 2 go. half the time u cant upgrade. (or in the case of onboard sound, it sounds shit lol)

as for that quake 3 pic.... ouch lol. Its a good job your not running xp lol.

The mx420 (mine) is the only card to have AGP and PCI in the mx series,

adil that doesn't matter, just because your current card isn't AGP does not mean there is no AGP slot there, try and find out the make of your motherbboard then google it... it's probably a whole lot easier just to open the PC... it'll be obvious once one side is off.

the only pc game i really play is quake 3, the others i get bored with and end up playin xbox instead. - still using it for games more than homebrew apps. (well except for linux)

i wish i had a faster broaband connection, id set up a dedicated q3 server on it, using my xbox (xebian) lol. (if the normal linux version runs under that...)

as for the agp slot, its most likely you do have one if your motherboard isnt ancient. (and the pc isnt legacy free)

Actually i just spent a lot of time workin on my entries for the UnleashX logos

I used UX for all my packages, mailnly becuase it has Zip support, but it really is a great dash

Anyway, as for Halo, I dont love the game, it was a decent single player game but multiplayer Kai is where its really at

halo on xbconnect rules, never tried it on kai

halo is also good when u got a few of ur m8s round, 4players split screen isnt as good as lan obviously but its great fun with ur mates.

Yeh you need a big old TV tho

Kai is pretty much the same as XBC but I find it simpler to use and the fact you can control all of the features from Avalauch makes it a must!

Also, its 100% free for all features

guess ill have to try kai again,

But you can browse arenas select games and even voice chat in ava now although I dont have a headset

Yes true, the PAL room can be quite a lonley place at times, most nights however 2-4 people play.. the most i have ever seen howerver is 17 that was on a Wedsday..

As for using UnleashX just boot Ava as an app I do this, tHc is my MAIN dash you see ava is just there for Kai and Kai alone

As long as it is Halo (NMP)/Brute Force/Mid Town Madness PAL i'm in

I'mn using XBMC to choose Xlink KAI Rooms and that works oke but i'll have a look into Avalaunch.
