i thought i read a while back that the matrix worked on 1.0-1.4
but now that my friend gave me his old one i cant get it to read my evo-x disc
and then i saw a tutorial that said it worked on 1.0-1.1
is this just not updated?
can this chip work?
or do i have to beg my friends with older box's to trade?
please help me i need to get this thing going by yesterday ;)
-
if its not possible and im an idiot...
feel free to chime in. <_<
-
It will work you will just need to solder the d0 wire.
If you were looking for if it will be a solderless install then it will not work in any other motherboard other than 1.0 and 1.1 since the d0's were in the same spot for both.
To install a matrix in a mother board 1.2+ you will need to remove the d0 pogo pin and solder a wire.
-
im almost positive its a 1.4
is there any pogo pin rmoval req?
i dont know about soldering shite that small...
i dont know what the dO is...
anyone who could point me in the right direction i would be most appreciative of,
after i solder that, is it just a matter of turning it on with the EVOX disc in?
or do i need a specific bios, that i wont find...
can you tell im a newbie? LOL :jester:

Hey,
Just goto www.xbox-scene.com and check the version info it shows you were the D0 is on 1.4 xboxes.
-
you said to remove the do pogo pin right?
the DO point on the chip is the guide pin thingy on the tab, right?
do i break that off?
then do i solder a wire to the old point on the chip to the different DO point on the mobo?
then itll work?

D0 is all by it's self. to remove it apply heat from soldering iron and use a par of pliers to pull as heat is applied. Then just solder a wire there on the pad and put the wire in the d0 hole on the moboard and power up. Make sure your useing a 1.4 bios. x2 2983 is a good one to use.

i sent you a PM,
i really appreciate your help!!! :)

do the matrix not need the lframe signal? I do cheapmods on the 1.4 boards and ill tell ya, the D0 is cake compared to the lframe on it. I don't know shit about matrix so I don't know if you need to connect the lframe to it, but for your sake I hope not...lol

I just killed a 1.4 Xbox by flashing the TSOP with an outdated X2.4977 BIOS. I guess I was so excited to get the 007 AUF /w Raincoat 0.7 trick to work, I saved the wrong BIOS to the memory card.
I'm not a complete n00b when it comes to modding Xbox's (Modded several 1.0-1.1s), but I am a moron.
To hear the news that the Matrix will work on a 1.4 box, its music to my ears. If anybody has any pics on where to find the D0 point on a 1.4 box, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks.

Dude read the main forum it is there. They have a pic.
-
Never mind. Found a pic. Now to prep my Matrix chip with X2.4983.

exzir,
did you read my private message?
guys, where in the hell do i find the bios i need?
i think thats all im missing now!!!
-
Go get it off of #xbins and no I did not get a message from you sorry I did not respond to anything the last message I have was from the 15th about someone asking about bios size. I answered that one but to answer yours you need a 256K bios and you can get it from xbins.
I would get the xecuter x2 multi 4893 bios. I think your at the blind flashing point so all you need to do is put it on a cd-rw as bios.bin and put it into the xbox after the boot up process and hit the a button a couple of time. I am not 100% certaint since I have not done this for well along time. It has be at close to two years since I installed my chameleon.

Chameleon and Matrix are totally different, aren't they.
Exzir, are you sure you can just mount the original Matrix to the LPC points and wire up the D0 point in order to get it to work on a 1.4 Xbox? Have you done this before with a Matrix chip and a 1.4 Xbox?
What's this talk about the LFRAME signal?
