Title: Time For A New Audio Package!
Post by: Blank on March 14, 2004, 03:19:00 PM
I'd love to see a save that loads evox (Build 3935), instead of mxm (I like evox much better). One that includes the force downgrade files for dashboard 4920, an easy install/uninstall menu for the audio exploit, PBL 1.4.1 support w/ x2-4981 bios support, and a nice swapless st.db file that doesn't get corrupt when hitting the wrong keys and when you don't have the av cables plugged in.

I know this idea has a lot of the ideas you mentioned, but I'd like to see all these implemented into a release. Let me know when you release yours! I'll test it! smile.gif

It looks like you've got some good features there.

I don't see why you would need 4979, but it would be a good idea to have both 4981.06 and 4981.67 if you don't already.  Either that, or give people the option (I guess no one would actually need BOTH on one system).  Also, note that they only have to be 256KB each.

Phoenix BIOS Loader 1.4.1 may not be compatible with HD/SV A/V packs, but neither are any other versions.  It flickers, but it still works (AFAIK).

Maybe you should just have different packages.  I don't think most people are going to need three or four dashes on their system.

In fact downgrading to 4920 dashboard is only possible w/slayers - the files are 131mb.

Actually, you can force downgrade with 2 key files from the 4920 dashboard: settings_panel.xip & Keyboard.xip. From there, you can load any Live 1.0 game and it will upgrade the dash to 4920. smile.gif

Actually, I have been very busy at work so haven't had any time to look at anything.

Good luck with your package!

Morden.

Settings_panel.xip and Keyboard.xip are 3.23mb.  Damn I really can't wait for that .Rar support to be implemented in MXM.

doesnt UnleashX support Zip, why not use that?

Is there a stable Audio exploit, everytime I tried it the file kept getting corrupted so I switched back to the fonts.

Please keep the eye in the Mr. Blank's commentary, I believe it's very important to be able to downgrade the dashboard without open the XBox, remember that it's the advantage over other mod methods.  wink.gif

MXM is ugly why not try Unleashed or put a cool skin? tongue.gif

And please keep the BoxPlorer in your package ohmy.gif , the beauty of the Morden's pack is that people like me that don't have a PC at home or simply don't want to use a PC mod an XBox.

May be if you prepare structure with the dash and a app. folder where people can put all the applications and a txt file with the info how to edit the config etcÂ… and generate a iso file for create a installer CD.

I would like me a feature for make a backup of all the original system before the installation, generating savegame and copy to the memory card for later, if you want restore the system to the original state.

And why not! hack the original M$ dash to force it to makes features like run app from a new menu, I like me a lot the original dashboard.

THX!!!  biggrin.gif

I know they are working on a fix for the 5530 kernel

if a easy to use patcher is installed that may be a good thing to include, it would have to run before PBL though to allow you to use PBL

just get rid of all other dashes except EVOX, and then they can just get others later, this will save a LOT of space.

Brazilianaire, almost all of the features u want are included in my installer.
Mechinstaller-Phoenix 1.0

Check it out and learn what u can...
It can downgrade dashboards.
It backs up C:.
It installs the hacked Mechfonts and/or swapless, CD or stable audio exploits.
Total save-game size = < 6 megs.

P.S. Evo-X without skins = < 800k

Neat release... now, does this ALWAYS work for forcing a downgrade to 4920? How big are the mechinstaller fonts (I know bert & ernie are close to 16MB)?

I keep forgetting... does MXM have a built in FTP client like evox does?

Im really looking forward to a package that has the ability to dynamically turn on/off PBL, so you can play games like Crimson Skies. Also im looking forward to combo audio/font exploits. I dont need integrated apps like boxplorer and DVD2Xbox. I can easily get them myself.

Why dont you package a program ISO with the packages so the people that need the aux programs can simply burn the ISO and use the boxplorer present on the disc to copy over any programs they need?

like TSR, or just IP support?

In general, an FTP client. Evox does an awesome job configuring settings and such for FTPing. Does MXM have the same built in features right off the bat, or do I have to download an FTP client app for it?

Yes, MXM has a built-in FTP client.
