look in your boot.cfg file if it is all 0's you need to find one with an rc4 key in it, though you are not allowed to ask for those here. after that if it doesn't work, it likely is because you do not have a 'bfm' bios (bootable from media is what it stands for)... that can be found at the usual place for it. After you find it, you can open it with xbtoool and customize it and tell it which dash to boot to/where the dash is. Then just load that into the bios folder.. My friend has a box with the focus chip, I spent a while trying to figure this out myself, but I have successfully gotten this to work. Give it a shot.
Oh, and btw. He has the same kernel as you. 5101 so yours will work. |
okay, so what you are saying is that if the boot.cfg DOES have an rc4 key then it should boot correct? that also if you are booting to a bfm bios.
and if that doesn't work, you talk about editing the bios w/ xbtool. what exactly do you do? i'm doing a 5101 box right now and anticipate some trouble ahead.
okay, font and audio both work. 4981.06 bfm bios. :)
hey jonnyknowsbest, could you explain how you made it, who you run de M7 bios, did you ranamed to xboxrom.bin or what?
thanx
are you asking how to change the bios? by default, the boot.cfg file looks for the bios in the bioses folder named xboxrom.bin. so if you want to use a different bios, say the 4981.06_bfm.bin you would have to rename that to xboxrom.bin and put it in the bioses folder.
yes JBNinja99, i'm asking that, but my xbox did have a bioses folder the xboxrom.bin it's in root it's that ok? could i just rename the file, and thats it? or i'll need to upgrade my evox to 3935 too?
:uhh:
thanx
okay your using fonts, so in your C:\root you should have the bioses folder from pbl. in that i'm guessing you have xboxrom.bin. just rename any bios you want to use to xboxrom.bin and overwrite the one that is currently in the folder. you should be fine.
thanx JBNinja99, i'll try it this afternoon.
