Yes doing this will give you a "clean" C partition and you will not get banned.  Just
copy on C the backups you have kept (you _did_ keep backups right? smile.gif) and delete
the "extra" contents of the E partition.

Yes, just copy SYSTEM\ALL\c from Slayer's disc on your C partition and delete all extra
content from the E partition.

all 'extra' content on E:? that means i leave the tdata folder alone. isnt this where the st.db file lives? from what i understand, the st.db file contains the patchthat allows the audio patch to work. shouldnt the st.db file be replaced?

I said "delete all extra content" from the E partition cause I though you might want to
keep some save games or whatever.  If you do not want to keep anything just delete all
the content from the E partition.

Were any of the three files you deleted off E called st.db?

If none of them were, and you were just referring to deleting the bios loader in e:\pbl\... the answer should be a lot simpler than clearing your whole C and E partitions.

in /e/tdata/fffe0000/music there is a file called st.db, delete it. This should enable you to rip soundtracks again.

If you already deleted st.db perhaps deleting it again might clear the weird glitch, and if not, you might want to stop by a rental shop and see if you could use a copy of the Xbox revirginising disc that they use on rental Xboxes.

If that doesn't work, u should call micro$oft for the E: format code. I Once had same accident happen & used the code to restore my E partition to retail. smile.gif

Sounds like you have a modchip setup

Anyways you can always FTP into your x-box and uplaoad a fresh set of dashboard files to it you'd need to visit xbins I think to get them.

as long as you can get into avalaunch your okay
However if your using a font hack do not unplug the system as if you need to set the system clock there is no ms dashboard there to let you do it

Theres one other posibilty it's that your using the font hack and trying to get into the original ms dashboard well it won't run from avalaunch you see once the font hack kicks in (if your not using PBL) then only xbe's signed with the -font key will run

Just tell me your not running the font exploit are you???

Does your xbox have a chip in it?

Do you have to press certain buttons from the dashboard to get your xbox to launch avalaunch (I'm guessing no but asking just incase)

If your running the font exploit have a look here
http://www.xbox-scen...link-msdash.php

easiest way for you to do it under avalaunch is to stick your newly created file msxboxdash.xbe into the apps folder you will then find it under the apps section in avalaunch

As far as I can see *need to test this more* but just take any game which lets you play on live like Counter strike or Jedi Acadamy (aka arecent live enabled game) and select to go into live when the game starts up this should do a dashboard update and bring your MS dash back

Sorry but us non modchippers do not have this privelage lol
