Title: Phoenix Bios Loader 1.3.5i
Post by: uberx on September 22, 2003, 11:03:00 AM
Team Phoenix just released (it got leaked i guess) the new pbl 1.3.5i and i think i want to use it, but I don't entirely understand what is new in it.  Does it just put up an options menu asking which bios you want to load if you have multiple bioses? would it do this after i initiate my audio hack?

hehe, I did exactly the same thing with an edited version of 1.3 that i have been playing about with a couple of days ago.
I made sure it loaded and then replaced the original only to be greeted with an error 21 on reboot. blink.gif

Luckily i had compiled a linux kernel with the xbox-linux patches incase i did anything stupid. So it was pretty easy to recover with the swap trick. But i wont be doing it again.  wink.gif

right after phoenix logo it goes black as soons as you see the 1st bit of white txt think NOT POSITIVE but i might need more than 1 bios in the bioses folder for it to stop.

You don't.  If there's only one BIOS, it will show the one BIOS on the screen to choose a BIOS, as well as the same name in the previous-in-the-list and next-in-the-list slots.  It doesn't let you scroll to those identical names, though.

Wow, you all are so lost....
Put all your .bin's in the bios folder.  Name your default bios xboxrom.bin.  As soon as PBL loads, hold down the A button.  A menu pops up where you can select your bios.  If you dont hold down A, the default bios loads.

come again?

Sorry, I guess I was unclear.  By "You don't", I meant that you don't need more than one BIOS in your Bioses folder.  Pressing A will still show you a list of BIOS roms for you to choose from, although there will only be one option to choose from.

As soon as it loads, meaning when it starts the font hack after the logo, or right when the logo comes up?

Don't you think that some one just updated PBL and released it.It's not hard considering that Team Phoenix provides the source code for you.

just do like the one dood said, after you get your boot.cfg all situated, put a couple of bioses in the bios folder, and load it up. you'll come to a dump(?) screen where it tells you what it's doing. you then press a and it brings up a list, the list is of the bioses you put in your bios folder. you then choose which bios you want to load
