can you boot from an original disk?

You should be able to boot from 007 / MA and get to the evox dash again, then FTP in and fix the m$ dash.

remove your DVD cable and the error will allow you to unlock the drive

si tu parle francais, débranche la nappe IDE du DVD et le nouveau message d'erreur va débarre le HD apres 30 minutes environ wink.gif

Bond 007 is 007,  and MA is MechAssualt.

Well if your just stuck in the clock loop just keep it on for like 10 hours and if u lucky it will stop.

Hey... I posted a thing telling how I can't get my HDD unlocked....but all this talk about this pulling the dvd IDE cable sounds nice... but the problem is that my xbox does the flubber animation then right after that I get Error 21 sad.gif .. so my question is can I pull out the dvd IDE cable during the flubber animation and still unlock my HDD?

I tried hot-swapping during the Error 21 and nothing.... just to make sure error 21 is there screen that sais your xbox requires service please call xbox customer support.. if that is got anymore idea's?

I already found the solution for this..

Pull the Xbox HDD IDE cable just when the big X Logo and MS letter appears below..
It should be unlocked at that moment!

i thaught before hot swopping the drive you would have to let it spin down 1st i can only imagine you being very lucky to get hot swop to work without giving the HD a chance to spin down 1st which cant happen as its in a loop but seriously good luck.

I can't unplug the IDE cable during the MS text because the MS text never appears! Right after the flubber animation it shows the big X for about a second then it goes directly into Error 21

ERROR Code 21: This error says that the machine was booted to display a error, basically someone told the machine to reboot (or launch a xbe) with this flag, and the error code just means its been rebooted by the flag

So basically something is wrong with any of the files on the C drive. Best way is to unlock your original hard drive using hdunlock and restore the original contents using hddriver. Hopefully you backed everything up....

did either one of you backup your C drives when you did the expoloit?

if so maybe you have a folder called backup in your C backup folder in this should be your hdd unlock key im wondering if evox makes this the first time its launched or do u have to go to settings and hit backup for it to appear at all?

the file your looking for is called hddinfo.txt in a folder called "Backup" in your backup of your C drive.

hi,
today I had that error 21 - problem as well.
I tried to put ava as default dash, but that didn't work, I think because of my older bios.
So I decided to go back to evolution X in a new version.
Everything worked except the msdashboard didn't.
The Problem was, that in the evox.ini the path was for msxboxdash and not xboxdash so I fixed it and after that I had the same problem with error 21 ("call tchnical support...")

For me the problem was solved after I deleted the folders "xboxdasdata 10027100","fonts" and "xodash" out of my xbox c: drive.

Than I put in my original Splinter Cell and downloaded the live files one more time. After a reboot I am now able to load the msdash out of the evox menu. and there is the live menu in it now.

i'm not sure, maybe it was simply great luck, but maybe it works for you too,
