They can still include a dash upgrade on the disk that will patch security holes and not allow a game to run unless the patch is in place...
Although quite cost ineffective, I bought a second box to toy around with to avoid live banning, dash upgrades (will never see a game disk), etc.
Please feel free to correct me if i'm wrong (as it has been known to happen on RARE occasion, j/k hope you guys can take jokes)

now you have to pay.. Kia will be free when its done however.. Still live! is much, much better...

I think these people that like to play with strangers online really dig it. I only play online games with people I know, so Xbconnect is the way to go in my opinion.. I can fire it up, host a game, and not pay MS$ a dime.
