Title: [ Question ] Updating Dashboard To 5960 Without A Game / Connection ?
Post by: Heimdall on May 18, 2010, 12:44:00 PM
Make sure you use Krayzie 1.1.1 gamesave. If you can't FTP. you could do a
Minimum Install - UnleashX Dashboard, then update the stock dash using Krayzie extras (to bypass shadow
C) then use the UnleashX file manager to copy a stock 5960 C across to the C
partition from a DVD/CD. After you've done that you'll need to start again with a fresh copy of the gamesave, and redo the softmod - but this time choose Basic Install - UnleashX Dashboard.

I can't see why not, after you've modded it with the minimum install in the first place. You'd still need to bypass shadow C (either with Krayzie extras, or by putting a small text file called shadowc_off.bin in E:\), and you should check the AID script to work out exactly what it does before you start. You'd also need to remove shadowc_off.bin before you rebooted, and obviously you'd still need to redo the softmod after you've finished updating to 5960.

It would be easier and quicker to just use the UnleashX file manager to delete the contents of the real c partition, then copy the files across manually.

Krayzie Extras already has the feature to add msdash 5960 to a minimum Ndure install to go dual boot Ndure.

CODE

You need to place all MSdashboard files into the MSdashboard folder inside the Extras directory. This needs to be a 5960 dashboard.

- Fortunately, I have access to all Dashboard files from Krayzie's Extras, but I just CAN'T copy them!

1. Do you have eeprom backup on PC?
2. Grab eeprom.bin with ftp if you haven't done so. It should be on E:\ somewhere.
3. It sounds as if C drive is either full or corrupt.
4. If you have ftp, look at E:\UDATA and try to locate the SC gamesaves.
5. Are you able to list the contents of C drive?

Oh, it's ok, it's ok, I just fixed this.

Just changed all the files from the backup folder to a new 5960 Dash, and restored the Dashboard ( success! It "restored" the dashboard to 5960 ), after that it was a smooth ride.

Thanks for the support guys!
