You don't provide much information to work with.
Maybe you selected the wrong kernel version, or maybe your dashboard wasn't the 5960 when you ran the softmod?

But, these are just wild guesses.

Yea sorry for the small amount of info. I could have written a book on the steps I had taken and was trying to keep it short...

My hd was failing and I did not realize it but I have the problem resolved now.
