Title: Got Error 13 When Trying To Set Default Dash To Xbmc I Have Back Up

On a softmod xbox C:\xboxdash.xbe is the file that triggers the softmod, so once you deleted it your Xbox wasn't softmodded any more!

Keep your Xbox plugged in to the mains so you don't get error 16.

Try cold booting mechassault and redoing the softmod from the gamesave.

If that doesn't work try cold booting using a recent live enabled game to restore the dash. Halo 2 and Doom 3 definitely work (I've used them both), and Pro Evolution Soccer 4, Need For Speed Most Wanted, and Goldeneye Rogue Agent should work (Live enabled, 2004 or later). You just go through the motions of connecting to live, the first thing the game does is update the dash. Once that's done you can remod your Xbox - but this time use a better softmod - Krayzie 1.1.1 is the best.

If that doesn't work use your eeprom backup and xboxhdm to give you access to the hard drive to undo the damage. A variant on that is to use your eeprom, xboxhdm and Kingroach NDURE 3.1 to rebuild the disk and install a newer, better softmod.

If that doesn't work (or you don't have an eeprom backup) you'll have to hotswap and use xboxhdm.

So I have a screwd up disk drive in my xbox so i was switching them out and my xbox got unpluged now i hae error 16 sad.gif(( is their any thing i can do? or am i sol? i was going to pop in a disk and try to remode and i forgot my drive was messed so i grabed anoter xbox and tryed to put that disk drive in and boot the disk but my hd got riped out of the board and my poiwer bar ghot pulled out of my wall! i don't know what to do

Not sure I understood any of that, but if you now have error 16 you have to use xboxhdm and your eeprom to get access to the disk. You might as well replace the softmod with a more robust one (with shadow C and virtual eeprom). Start with the stock C from Slayers or CASH, use Kingroach NDURE 3.1 to build the softmod set, then follow the instructions for using xboxhdm.

Can you FTP to the Xbox once you've activated the SID V exploit?

Well I fixed my IP configurations (took a look at how my 360 was set up). I can ftp to my xbox now
FTP'ed the original xbox dash and now im fixed. Thanks, guess I just needed a reminder that you can ftp in SIDV
