Have you tried to manually change the IP address?

you cloned the shadow EEPROM file
find it (eeprom.bin) and replace with the correct one or just delete it

Well my friend said hey could only find one eeprom.bin.
The one in /E/backup/eeprom/
(he copied the C & E drive to his pc, and searched with the ms windows function, like I asked him to).

He replaced it with his eeprom.bin, booted it, but my eeprom is still loaded.

I think we can only solve the problem getting configmagic to run correctly. But CF (like I said) can't unlock his HDD, probably because CF tries to unlock it with my eeprom info (the one that is loaded for some strange reason).

What are other commen places where the eeprom can be stored? Are the alternative filenames known?

There is a back up option in Evox that will back up the eeprom. Use that to get a fresh copy of an eeprom.bin file.

If all else fails and you accidentally overwrote his eeprom with yours, you will need to buy a new eeprom and write it to his Xbox.

We've got his eeprom.bin backup, that's not the problem.
We only can't get it loaded with Configmagic, because CF wants you to unlock your hdd first, and that option doesnt work since my eeprom is loaded.
Overwriting my eeprom.bin on /E/backup/eeprom/eeprom.bin does nothing.

I guess we have to do it all over again (build hdd from scratch, with his eeprom in an xiso using xboxhdm...)
