Title: Soft Mod'ing A Frag'ed V1.1

I have a 1.1 that I can get running with my DUO X2 modchip..  I had hoped I would be able to reflash the TSOP with the  DUO X2 chip, but no luck...

My second choice was to do a SoftMod (KRAZIE's 1.1) on it.  It's my understanding that doing a softmod bypasses the TSOP..

So, I went thru the initial softmod process..  However, I did not get to the point in the softmod where it boots up and then says "PRESS A" so I am thinking that the softmod is not all the way done.  With the DUO X2 still installed, it just sits at a blank black screen after the BLUE X of the 4981 BIOS Boot...  When I pulled the DUO X2 off, it still FRAG'ed and did not boot...

Am I doing something wrong??

Or is it that you cannot even SoftMod a FRAG'ed box??

With the chip in, have you tried getting the Xbox back to stock? Remove the chip then see if it will boot?

I think I tried that, but only with getting the HD/FileSystem..  I am assuming you mean to get the BIOS back to STOCK as well...

I'll check the usual places for the stock 1.1 BIOS and then go from there.

EDIT:

Turns out I had already downloaded those once upon a time..

I am assuming that I need to use the latest 1 MEG one, 4627???


EDIT 2:

Just occurred to me that I have a problem when I try to flash the TSOP..  I put the D0 line on a removable ground..  I boot up SLAYERS 2.7 with the DUO X2 in..  Pull the D0 line and then pull the DUO X2.  Try to flash and it says FLASH NOT WRITEABLE...  The solder points ARE soldered...

What I am suggesting is put the Xbox totally back to stock. Prep the HD with Slayer's for a stock Xbox. Lock the HD and remove the chip. Boot the Xbox and see if it will run. If not the TSOP either needs to be reflashed like you are trying, or you need to leave the chip in. That would eliminate you trying to get the Xbox modded with a softmod.

If I understand you correctly, you are saying that, if the TSOP cannot be reflashed, then SOFTMOD'ing is not an option.  I will have to leave the DUO X2 in place if I want to use this XBOX..

Is that an accurate assessment??
