Title: Why Wont My Pc See My Xbox Controller

i have done the usb mod to 2 controllers now and both of then with different usb cords matching and soldering the matching wires like it said in the guide but still no joy when i try to conect them the pc wont detect them i have even reformated my pc but still no joy all my other usb items work like my camera hard drive and so on

all i want to do is soft mod my xbox can i do it any other way i have a xploder cable but i cant get the splinter cell game save to load using the xbox xploder software any help would be great thanks
