it depends on some code that is on the disc. Buying a platinum or not is no 100% guarantee. There is a topic about this in the tutorials section.

Thans you two.  I need the Mechassault though as its region free and I live in Japan.  I'm pretty sure no ones ever made a softmod package for a Jp title!

I dunno if the sc NTSC version would work on a NTSC-J xbox or not. But i'm not sure mechassault is region free. It does have multi region support but I don't know if the japanese region is included.
