The softmod bios has set the led to orange. So you won't be able to change it unless you change the bios.

would there be a different softmod that would not do this?

What "softmod bios"??  If its a true softmod then the bios is still the OEM M$ one. Thats why the LED stays green untill it boots the dashboard.

What softmod did you use? I know that I can change my LED between red, green and orange in the system settings in Evox.   If not there then its by using Krazyies's extras if you have that installed.
