Title: How To Enable Hd Settings On A Softmodded Xbox?
Post by: vinny_75 on July 05, 2007, 07:38:00 PM
By the way, I tried to launch xboxdash.xbe from backup folder under E but it throws the green 21 error (xbox needs service error).

Is it possible that I will be able to launch xboxdash by relocating that xboxdash.xbe to C drive and then try launching form there?  I just dont want to lose the current softmod ability to FTP  by doing anything stupid...

Someone please advice

would help to know what soft mod was used

xboxdash.xbe will run from E:\ if all the needed support files are on C:\

here is a list of files
http://forums.xbox-s...&...t&p=3870716
right is the real C on a NDURE setup left is stock MS files (also contained in the shadowC)
as you can see there a lot of files missing (the MS dash is more then just xboxdash.xbe)
the xboxdash.xbe in C:\ is part of the softmod so be carefull what you do with it
you may want to FTP a new gamesave installer (Krayzie's NDURE 1.1) make sure it will boot
and restore the C back to stock (use the files from slayers2.6-2.7) using FTP, then re softmod
or look in to NDURE installer for PC
you can fix what you have but it will require a lot of effort
one thing to remember a NKPatcher softmod uses a virtual EEPROM so any changes made while
in modded mode will not stick (there are ways around it)
also newer versions of XBMC will list the real C as G:\ when conected with FTP (so you can get to the real C if needed)

Hello

Thanks for the response. I used Krayzie_SC-NTSC_UXE_Installer_Dutch-English_v2.8 and SplinterCellExploit.

It created a backup folder and under which I see the xboxdash.xbe. But running that only gave me the Green Need service error. Here is what I see under C and E drive as it stands

C Drive folders

backup  (this has bios.bin, disk.bin, eeprom.bin, hddkey.bin)
font
sid
skin
trainers

C Drive Files
evoxdash.cfg
evoxdash.xbe
xboxdash.xbe  (Tried launching this and just got a black screen..no errors nothing)

E Drive Foders

Apps
Backup
cache
tdata
udata
Under the E:/Backup folder  I see the following subfolders, created by the autoinstall mod

Mod
MS

Both the above folders have xboxdash.xbe. I tried to launch both from their current location and that came out with green 21 service needed error. Should I move either one of these to the C Drive and try?
Previously, I tried Avalaunch settings to set HD resolutions settings..It said EProm cannot be written on a locked drive.

This is where I am  right now....Please advice

this doesn't look like my installer. in fact it totally isn't. if it was the msdash would work along with any settings. stay away from crappy installers

can I just copy all the files from my hard modded xbox C drive and move it a new folder on softmodded xbox and try launching?
NO the support files must be on C:\ in the root
the path's are hard coded in the xboxdash.xbe (C:\root gets remaped) but the xboxdash.xbe can be ran from anywhere
