I'd suggest modding with Krayzies Ndure v1.1 (+v1.1.1 update). You can follow the readme file for instructions on installing the softmod. Once you boot the softmod installation menu the rest is pretty self-explainitory. I'd recommend going with the "basic install" and using "unleashx" as a dash (evox is very old and not much use for it anymore).
And nobody downloads games to their xbox HDD. If you want a game on your HDD (which is what I think you mean), backup your original using Dvd2XboX (a program you will need to install).
Do you already have the softmod installed BTW? And if you do, then do you mean you need to install programs?
