Title: Xecuter 2.6 Went Dead...tried Softmod. Need Help Please!
Post by: pacwill on July 09, 2006, 03:05:00 PM
Well my X2.6 went dead so instead of buying another one I tried to do a softmod with Splinter Cell.  I backed up the C:  drive and the EEPROM and installed the mod.  All of this went well.  When evox came back up I went looking for all the games and video files I had on my 320gb hard drive and they were nowhere to be found.  The F: drive was showing that I had 4.2Gb of space left and that's it.

I thought to myself that maybe this is just an evox problem since I use XBMC.  So I installed XBMC as my default dash and went to search for my files and it was still just showing I only had 4.2gb of space left.  No games or video files at all. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Is there something else I need to do since I didn't change out hard drives?  I was expecting to see all my files in the same place since the partitions were all there.

I then went to dvd2xbox and went to game manager and all my games were there, so I pressed "A" to launch the game and it just rebooted back to XBMC.  I went back to dvd2xbox and made a backup of a game and loaded it and it played fine.  But that is the only game that shows up in XBMC.  I went back into dvd2xbox again and selected rescan hard drive and all my old games dissappeared from dvd2xbox.  It only show the game I just backed up.

So now this is where I'm stuck at.  If anyone can offer any assistance it would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

What size is F + G drives?

Did you use a .67 bios when softmodding?

Did you enable F+ G in dash board settings?

F drive should be over 300gb, but I don't know where to go in XBMCto get the exact size.  It just gives me the space that is left.  And what's up with the G drive?  I never had one on the using the x2.6 chip.

Not sure if I used the .67 bios.  What ever I used it was in this rar file "Softmod.Installer.Deluxe.v2.0.** Links to Xbox Warez and Torrents **.rar" Where can I check to see if it is the .67 bios.

I did enable both F&G.

Thanks for the response.

Well you should really get rid of sids and use Krayzies Ndure is much better and with sids eventually its gonna get error 21 or some other dash error..

If you do want to try a more up to date softmod get Ndure at the usual place(link in sig)

Also the bios in Sids mite not have lba48 support which would cause F: to get all screwed up(i think)

And in xbmc goto settings then system info then scroll down to storage/HD and click it..It should give you a list of partitions and space..It mite be in a different area i havent been there in awhile but that should be it..

Edit: I pulled this from the softmod FAQs:::

Why does my xbox only diplays 137 gigs of space while I know my hd is much bigger
The bios or kernelpatcher you are using doesn't support lba-48 or you haven't turned on additional partitions isn your dash (G drive). If lba-48 is not supported you can upgrade the bios or kernel patcher. There are different ways to divide the additional space. Either all on F or 137 on F and the rest on G.

Im pretty sure you need a more up to date softmod Sids 2.0 is old crap..
