Title: Xbox Live Wont Work On My Unmodded Hard Drive

i push y to get the xyz and get 1.00.5971.01

i get all the way to the point to connect to xbox live then it says could not connect to xbox live. check these possiable options.
it tells me to check my router i tryed pluging my xbox right to the modem and still same
im not using win to brige or nothing.
and i isp is fine but keeps giving me this msg can u help a noob.
