recently I decided to unistall my softmod permenantly. for the mod i used the softmod installer 4.0 dual boot. after unistalling and rebooting xbox, it gives me an error 22 that non of the dash xbes are there even though it had no problems uninstalling. it says use disc to reinstall but my friend borrowed my splinter cell. any other fix than using disc?

just ftp in. the error 22 is just a made up error buy the sid guys. If they were smart they left the ftp settings in there so you can fix your dash. For more support go to the sid forums.

will it let me ftp? all it shows is that screen and it says press a to reinstall which i tryed and it does the same thing again alll i can do is play games. no dashes at all. can u link me there i cant seem to find the forums

if you can't ftp just make a bootdisc with correct ftp settings. and no we can't link to lame forums and their crappy software. just read the readme

you should be able to find it if you search around. Basically you just take a dashboard and burn it to a disc.

so i just downloaded the slayers stuff but my acrobat reader says the viewer cannot decrypt this document.  this is really annoying now. so what do i do after i have the disc ready? i have a 1.6 box just to let ya no

its probably a bittorent file that you need a program to download it.

But heres some info i pulled of the newb guid

1. extract the files from the version of EvoX you downloaded. You should put your dummy file in the extracted folder.

2. in the new EvoX folder, find the file with the extention (i.e. .bmp, .txt) of .xbe
it is usually names something along the lines of evoxdash.xbe

This is the dashboard file. *YOU MUST* rename this to default.xbe for boot disk purposes

3. make sure you have *at least* these files in your evoX folder

default.xbe (after renaming)
evox.ini
dummy file (nero.zip)

4. open Craxtion. click add. Browse so that it is searching for the folder with the
evoX files in it. Click Next. It will now ask you to point it in the direction of where to save your new .iso you can also rename it in the bottom left Click Next. If it asks you if you want to patch the default.xbe, choose no. Then Finish it up and you got yourself a new xbox .iso

5. open nero. close out of the wizard if it pops up. go to File>Burn Image. Burn the .iso file you made with Craxtion onto your blank cd-rw. Burn as slow as possible to insure a safe burn.

6. after burning the disk, put that disk into your xbox and turn it off then back on.

This Boot Disk has created a temporary FTP server so that you can transfer files to and from your xbox and computer. In order to FTP to your xbox, you HAVE to be at your dashboard, either by boot disk or if it's already installed then just go to it by default.

!!AS SOON!! as you get the boot disk to work and you connect to your xbox for the first time, BACK UP your C: and E: drives. You can do this by using FlashFXP. Use "Quick Connect" and type in the following:

IP: 192.168.0.X (x depends on what you did in the evox.ini file.)
Port: 21
Login: xbox
Password: xbox

now connect. on the right box you should see

Yeah they are just about the same thing. You can use them to boot a dash on the disc and then you will have FTP access to fix things.

Slayers is an Autoinstaller and does do a lot more than a boot disc though. But a boot disc will work fine for you.

i only have cdr s but i guess ill have to wait till tomorrow so i can get my splinter cell back from my friend. But when i get in the SID4.5 menu on my xbox what should i do? reinstall softmod and then uninstall it? One thing that makes me pissed off is that I uninstalled it before and had no problems, now i uninstalled it and it just boots up with the error 22. but one thing i dont understand is, if i uninstalled the softmod, why does it flash the unleashx picture it shows before the dash is loaded and then give me that. do you think its because instead of using the splinter cell to activate the menu, i instead when through my file explorer and chose menu.xbe to uninstall it. maybe thats why i got the error?

Well i dont know crap about sids. But maybe you could try useing slayers or a boot disk to ftp your eeprom baackup to your pc. Than use the stock C: drive files from slayers i think their in System/all/C than make a xboxhdm disk and rebuild the C: drive of the xbox hd. And get rid of sids for good and get Krayzies ndure if you ever want to softmod it again. NDure is fool proof. Sids causes people nothing but problems. Good luck

the fact is your softmod is not uninstalled at all. it probably uninstalled your E but left your C intact. Therefore the exploit still loads. The error 22 is just an unleashx dashboard with some error 22 skin they created themselves. Like I said earlier you should be able to ftp in as long as the network settings are right. if not you need a boot disc. if you get you to the sid menu you should be able to ftp also. Like sugested if you do not want problems no more you might wanna get rid of it.

No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.
i set the ms network settings on 192.168.1.103 but im not getting anything.

seems you left it unplugged too long. just pop in your splinter cell. also your exploit would still be active and you should be able to load burned discs.

i tryed with a slayers disc i made and on a cdr but it didnt work  sad.gif . when i take out the disc on halo 2 while its loading on where it says ms and all it plays the whole movie then says disc is dirty and then it goes to the error 22. i fixed the date problem, but im still not getting aNY ftp to work unsure.gif

i burned a slayers disc on a cdrw bout a year ago and it didnt work. i have a 1.6 so i dont understand whats going on here. and when i have the error 22 it flashes all the differnt colors.

thats the problem lol i dont have disc because my friend is borrowing itand i was supposed to get it from him from school today but im home sick. i gotta wait i guess would it be ok to make a new gamertag while im waiting? heres a pic IPB Image

so what happens when you press A? Have you tried ftping? Have you tried burned games? As I've said the exploit is still active. the only thing that is gone is your dashboard. If it wasn't such a piece of crap you would have solved it in a couple of minutes

it probably won't work since live is blocked (or at least should be if they didn't mess that up also)

well im able to coldboot h2 and play that on live without the flashing of differnt colors on the eject button. or if i start it up with the cd open it goes to network stuff, without the flashing stuff. The main reason i wanted to uninstall is so i could make a new gt, and i didnt want to screw up anything.

ok if you have a dualboot to the livedash then yeah you could make an acount there.
