Which mod do you have?

Can you coldboot retail games?

The only thing I can tell you is that i used the splinter cell save game exploit. I belive my friend put on the evox bios. But i cant be to sure

And no... I can't boot anything. I tried pooppin the retail crimson skies and it reads it for a bit.. then I get the yelllow garbled screen of $#!^

Wow this is stupid... I will be suficciently pissed if I have to replce the xbox

try hotswappig the hd. look for info in my sig

you better pray you haven't corrupted your eeprom since then you will need a chip. Like suggested try rebuilding the hd with a more stable exploit like ndure

alrite I managed to get NDURE on the disk...and YAY i dont get the shitty screen of garblnesss... now i get an error 21. I have no idea where its coming form.. I checked the error codes.. and it says its being told to restart... I feel like im almost there... just not quite... The next thing im gunna try is reinstallin my old version of  xboxhdm before my disk crashed... mayb with new bios loaded it will work.. who knows...

EDIT:I may have installed NDURE incorrectly... the guide tells you to pick a font for your corresponding dashboard and kernel... But since i cant get into my daashboard... I cant obtain this infomratoin.. so i pciked generic... is this corerct?

yeah generic is fine. are you using textbooks tutorial for ndure. If not I suggest you read it.

Alrite, Im so close I can taste it.
After running the installer it came up with 3 errors all having to do with not finding the bert and ernie fonts. In this case do would I just unlock the drive and copy them to where they are supposed to be? Thanks everone for the help so far. If i can fix this rather then buy a new xbox.. that will save me a nice $200

I forgot to mention a very imporant peice of informaton....After installing using textbooks method... I did manage to semi get into the MS dashboard... I can see the backround and a window... but there is no text... sometimes when you press a button.. the focus will move around the screen but thats it..I also tried moving bert and ernie into the fonts folder on the xbox because it seemed to have a problem with that as it was installing the mod.

you need to set up the files exactly like explained in the tut or in the ndure installers readme. I find it hard to believe it's only 17 mb

Okay.. I set up the filles exactlyas it says on the tutorial.. and I get the same thing While installing the patch... i get this:

Every time I get these errors... and every single time.. it boots into the screwed up MS dash.

Also... The makefile iso is only 17 megs strangley... I followed the tuturial exactly how it is and returned with the same results... Hows that for a pickle?

well I never used xbox hdm or exactly followed that tut so you might be better off posting your troubles in textbooks topic

If there was any way to return th xbox to exactly how it was when i baught it.. then the mod would probably be 100% sucesssfull.. or at least id be able to play my games

yeah get slayers 2.6 and extract it. you will find a retail C in system\all\c\

IT LIVVVESS!!!!!

I dont have anything installed other than the ms dashboard... but for right now.. thats okay with me. Krayzie, you are a genious and your slayer idea worked... I will be making a Detailed tuturial with all of the steps I took and I you will deffinatly be mentioned.... As for xboxhdn.. its probably one of the most usefull tools there is for xbox and has just saved me.
